THIS IS AN EXTREMELY WEIRD COINCIDENCE - I've never done the RFE trick, so I thought I'd give it a shot. I called today and got through to a lady. She asked for my receipt number, I gave it to her. She asked what my question was. I responded I filed in September, and it is coming up on 5 months and I still haven't heard anything. She then immediately cut me off and said DON'T WORRY. In that instant I thought she was just going to say it takes some time for the process to play out, yada, yada. She then said YOUR APPLICATION WAS APPROVED TODAY! Now I checked online in my e-mail and the USCIS website and nothing showed up. She reassured me that my application was approved today and that I will receive a notice soon. So I guess I am unofficially approved!

WOW!! That's great....CONGRATULATIONS!! :thumbs:

AOS Timeline:

7/30/08: Sent AOS to Chicago lockbox

7/31/08: Received by USCIS

8/06/08: Check cashed

8/07/08: Rec'd NOA for I-485 AOS

8/07/08: AOS, EAD, & AP - Touched

8/08/08: Rec'd NOAs for EAD & AP

8/12/08: Rec'd Biometrics appt letter

8/21/08: Biometrics

9/29/08: EAD & AP - approved!!

10/6/08: EAD & AP - received in the mail!

2/06/09: Received interview notice for March 10th!!

3/10/09: Passed interview - husband's GC approved!!! Woohoo!!! :-)

Mar.13, 2008-completed vaccinations-I693A supplement from CS

Mar. 18, 2008- sent the AOS package(I-485 and EAD)..applied for SSN..

Mar.19, 2008-Delivered. signed for by V Bustamante-took and passed written driving test

Mar.25, 2008-Check cashed-Received SSN

Mar.27,2008-Received NOA's in mail-Case available online

Mar.28, 2008-Received Biometrics appointment in mail-04/08/08

I know I have been absent from the boards for a bit trying to be patient and hoping that the process works itself out. Just wanted to let you know that late today I checked my case status and saw that we had been touched for the first time on Feb 3 (yep, a sunday) and then later tonight it now says we were touched on Feb 4. Hope it means that good things are to come!!

My girl just called me from PI and saw we were APPROVED. Funny how she found out before me. I thought maybe it was just a touch and she was overreacting.
