Drop the nonsense labels, Steve. It would make it easier to take your argument seriously. You really start to sound shrill.

It is what it is. I for one welcome any criticism aimed at this country's policies and government provided it has substance. We would do well to listen such criticism. The fairy tale, The Emperor's New Clothes, contains just that nugget of wisdom.

Your view is so wrong there just isn't any arguing with you. Why do you want to grant equal voice to someone that isn't supposed to be here in the first place? You are in effect allowing criminals to remake the law they just broke. And when others that are actually thinking state what is right you label them as fascist. Just so wrong.

It certainly is what it is. Immigration, for example, is a privilege. Make that basic fact the premise of the argument and you have none. ;)

I think the point he is trying to make is that Americans complain about other country's governments all the time.... but it isn't ok for people from other counties to complain about America's government??...

They can do it but we don't have to give them any regard at all. Do you think Mexico is giving any of our complaints any regard?

It is if there is indeed something to complain about. He's been comparing apples and oranges in that regard. To illustrate, I asked two simple questions earlier and have yet to see a response...

When and where has the US intervened or interceded on behalf of people that were afforded due process in accordance with generally accepted humanitarian principals? When and where have Americans been critical of governments that afford their people internationally accepted freedoms and rights?

This lady is not complaining about the American government but about how we, as a nation, have structured our immigration policies. As such, she is criticizing the American people rather than the American government. The American government has afforded her due process. There's nothing to complain about as far as the government is concerned. ;)

I go away for 2 days to do a medical for this long process to get into America without bringing in any unknown diseases and whatnot, and this is what happens.

Would you prefer if I said "if the US is such a bad and horrible place FOR seperating her from him, why would they want to live there.." instead of 'that it'.

I was trying to look at it from the BOY's perspective. Mummy is there, slinging off at the American Government, making him walk around looking all sad and mopey, saying to stop separating the parents from the children. He's not having a fun time.

Eventually, 1 + 1 will click in his head and he'll ask 'Hey mummy, America (because why would a kid say American Government?) is mean, it doesn't want us together! Why can't I stay here with you?" (in Mexico).

SHE may not think America (as in the country) isn't bad, and obviously there is a reason why she wants to be there, but the kid must have some really whacked out views by about now about the whole fiasco.
