Request for Visa Pick-Up

Hi!

As preparation for my incoming interview, my fiance & i we're planning to submit a letter to the CO for a visa pick-up request.

I am currently staying in my parents' house (which is approx 200km away from Manila City) and kinda located in Mountain side..In short, its hard to find.

THe delivery man of my packet 4 admitted that he had a hard time to look for our house.

I have now the scanned copy of the letter prepared by my fiance and i told him to send the same letter to USEmbassy by fax on my interview day itself.

We both set with this request, until i saw this thread prepared by Panda_Ner posted last Sept 10 - VISA APPROVED!!

It was mention there....

"Then, that was it! The consular told her to have a seat and wait for her number. She then gave the letter by me requesting for Visa pickup at the Embassy. The CO said he couldn't guarantee it but she was given the pink slip anyways. The CO also stamped "DONE" on all the paperwork. She told me that the other ladies she went with also had the word "DONE" stamped on their paperwork as well--She meet up with four other ladies. Hope this is just the same as approved. I think so because she still walked away with the pink slip! She asked the guard about the pink slip. And, the guard replied that she was very lucky to schedule a pickup. There were very few who got to arrange a pickup. Horray!"

It made me think somehow...

Anyone who made a request before & was declined?

FOr those who made request, I hope you can share your experience..Im really thinking of how i will hand it over to the CO.

Hello alex! We are planning to do the visa pick-up as well. If you'll get that done soon then I hope to hear back from you. It would gladly be appreciated if you can tell us if the CO will honor the letter-request from your fiance. I have been reading through threads and I've learned that in most cases those who got approved for a visa pick-up are only those beneficiaries accompanied by their foreign fiance on the interview day. there were some visa-pick-up approvals before, even though their petitioner were not there during the interview.

Some get to pick visa up. Some don't.

Depends on the CO.

Some of the time you get the same courier from Delbros that delivered the packet.

My wife did and still had his CP number and called him just after approval.

We promised a minor contribution to his favorite charity and he picked up the visa and delivered it to my wife at a Jollibee as my wife lived in the bundoks and very difficult to find unless Delbros used Google Earth!!

I planned to have a request for pick up also, cause they have a hard time finding my place here in Baguio cause its on bundoks

I read some people before that they didn't give a letter, they just asked the CO, that was last year, I don't know if its applicable till now

yes I heard several pinays who where granted visa pick up tho there fiance we're not with them, give a try alex,in my case I will surely ask the CO

Congrats! You were indeed fortunate because it truly depends on the CO whether the beneficiary will be permitted to pick up the visa. In our case, the answer was not, but the CO was new and I wasn't in attendance.
