I'm filing I-130. The petition was sent and was received in December, 2005 (NOA1), then the approving NOA2 came in yesterday, 4/7/2006. In between, I sent I-129F for K3 and it was received in March, 2006 (NOA 1/K3), NOA2/K3 not yet. So first, I think I should not wait for the K3; it's better for me to go ahead, take the IR1/CR1 path to be faster and it will gets easier for my wife to get her green card upon entrance, do you guys think so? Then if I do so, I need to let them know that I like to abandon the K3. Now my question is how and when to notify them. Will I call the Chicago office, where they are processing my K3, to ask for info about how to withdraw my K3 or should I wait for something else? Or what else should I do or anything else I should know?

The VJ I-130/K3 guide says that people should write to the consulate to tell them what they like when both approvals (K3 and IR1/CR1) reach them. But my case is different as none of them gets there yet. The I-130 is now being transferred to NVA, and the K3 is still being processed at its original service center (Chicago).

Anyone knows about this, please elaborate. Your help is greatly appreciated.
