Before anyone says it, I know that JFK is the only POE that is known for handing out the temporary EADs frequently.

My fiancé is Canadian, and as I've been told, everyone does pre-flight immigration in their airports, so flying him into JFK would be no good because he wouldn't be going through customs and immigration there.

We really, really want to get a temporary EAD for my fiancé when he gets here because we both have loans and stuff to pay off so having him not working for 3-4 months would really hurt us, especially with having to turn around and pay over a grand for his AOS. I'm from Columbus, and I'm just wanting to know where the other places that people have EVER had luck getting a temp. EAD. I had read that some have got it at the Ambassador Bridge in Detroit/Windsor - is this just a one time occurrence, or is that not completely uncommon? Also I will plan on making an infopass appointment if that doesn't work. If anyone has any other places (whether it's airport or drive through POEs) that you know of anyone having luck, please let me know so I can find out the best way to get my fiancé down here with the best odds of getting him a temp. EAD. Thanks!

~ 08/23/08 - Receive Kyle's EAD card!!!

~ 09/25/08 - Receives green card!!!

Many of the border crossings do the stamp, Rainbow Bridge Niagara Falls has been reported to do the temp stamp.

Someone in the Canadian forum had a list of phone number's to call POEs and ask about the stamp. You can probably find the list doing an online search. Ambassador bridge seems to give the stamp with some consistency.
