it means that there are some missing documents that you didn't show to the Consul, but as soon as you gave them what are they're asking for, the process resumes, In Philippines, we can call the US Embassy for any up dates, I've seen as long as 6 months in Philippines if you will not follow up

We're dealing with the US Embassy/Manila right now in administrative review on our daughter's visa. It's been 5 months and counting.

Administrative review does not necessarily mean missing documents but usually happens when they need to verify or check

something more in depth.

AP/AR can be due to several things, background checks, document verification with the issuing National Registry etc,

security checks or home investigation.

As each case is different, no one can predict the time frame. It can be weeks, months and even years.

Sometimes a pattern can be recognized of length of time in certain embassies but this is not reliable.

I haven't been on AR, but I've read posts from some people who have. It doesn't hurt to regularly call the embassy (a few times per month) to check the status. I think I remember one lady who called weekly and they were only on AR for a few months. I could be wrong though. But if you call regularly, that should assure that your case doesn't get buried and ignored.

GOOD LUCK!!!

They don't have a legal deadline for how long they can do their "administrative processes". They can take as much time as they want.

When we filed for K-3 and CR, it took over 800 days (waaaay over 2 years) to get ANY real update (which in the end was the approval of two forms). No explanation was ever given for the delays, even to the senators asking for the update in our case.

The closest I can guess (and only guess) why ours was such a PITA to wait is that there is or was a convicted felon who was loose back then, and had the same name and DOB as my husband. Fortunately the bodily description and the exact state didn't match. That would also explain the usual travel harassment when entering the country, and why also the USC was fingerprinted during the K-3 process.

Best of luck. I hope it won't take as long for you.

938 days to get K-3.

AOS approved on day 1304.

Pray you don't have to wait that long.
