Yaadies...what is the weirdest superstition or fear you have heard from a yaadie?

I think the weirdest one I can remember of the top was that blow dryers and hooded dryers give women brain cancer. This guy my sis met on our first trip to Jamaica was always busy recording himself talk. Well, she listened to some of them one afternoon, and he had all kind of ramblings about his findings and data on this very subject. He stated that he was paid very well for his tapes of wisdom, and all of Jamaica loved to hear his voice. :wacko::wacko:

Not a Jamaican tradition -

But at the wedding I was at, we sat with a woman who is either Peruvian or Venezualan (can't figure it out, she lived both spots, lol) - she told us two cute ones:

1 - They bake a ring into the cake, and only the females eat from that cake - whoever gets the ring gets married within the next year.

2 - They sew pieces of single girl's hair into the hem of the wedding dress to bring them luck in finding a husband -
