I've never seen anything on that being a mandatory requirement.

That's because the backlog reduction program (aka "CSC transfer") and approvals of I-485 without an interview started in 2005, so there is no person (at least on this board) who got a CSC transfer and has already gone through the removal of conditions - not enough time has elapsed since USCIS started to approve I-485's without interviews. It is only now that the people who got their conditional cards without an interview are applying for the removal of conditions - there haven't been any approvals yet, and we don't know yet if they're going to be interviewed for a 10-year green card or not. But we'll find out pretty soon.

That's because I-751 interviews are few and far between, most cases are approved without an interview.

I really think all this speculating is useless for now as we don't have (yet) any historical data to base any conclusions on whether I-485s approved without interview will be subject to interview during I-751.

The earliest documented (on VJ anyway) record of an I-485 approved without interview was an approval on Oct 20, 2005. This means the earliest I-751 filing would be July 22, 2007.

We have the list going. All we can do now is sit back and watch another page of history unfold.
