I submitted the petition for my wife's 10 year green card. I was hoping this would put her fears to rest. But we had one hell of a time getting her 2 year that she just cannot stop worry.

This petition was alot of work because I waited till the last minute to assemble. If I would have knew what I was doing I could have started from day 1.

It took us 18 months just to figure out why her 2 year hadn't arrived and it finally arrived after we visited our Congressman's office. "Joe Donnally" out of South Bend, In. His office did a find job for us. As close as I can figure out the original petition may have went to the wrong center and I was told if they don't work on them there they just lay the petition aside and it just lays there and goes no where.

Another thing is while my wife was over in China I started the process K-1, using a man I will call Alex and everything was going fine he looked over the petition and picked up on things I had n't done and reminded me make sure you send payment, the correct payment, got good advice from this man, which I've never met. and I sent the paper work to my wife in China and one of her many girlfriends suggested that she don't go K-1 but to file as CR-1 and she made this change in the middle of the process and I don't know if this had anything to do with it but it took 18 months to get the 2 year.

This last 2 years was ALOT of work for us as she also wanted her own checking account, I.D. card, driver's licence, her own car, a job and she wanted everything RIGHT NOW and she was also learning English.

So the moral to this story is go over your petition again and again, GET IT RIGHT the FIRST TIME and above all else make sure it goes to the right center, send it signature confirmation and keep all receipts and keep everything in order or you'll be as frustrated as I am.

So now we wait again and hope everything goes smoother with this petition.
