Sorry for being pedantic, but about Q18, just a quickie ...

"Has your fiance(e) met and seen you within the two-year period immediately receding the filing of this petition?

Yes No

Describe the circumstances under which you met. If you have not personally met each other, explain how the relationship was

established. "

So in this case, my fiance and I should detail and prove ONLY our last 2 years spent working together in Japan and not mention our relationship prior to that? Is it correct to assume that any proof, information, details of our relationship before that is just 'in the way'? Is it best to keep it to just the details required?

Is it safe to completely disregard how we met, when we met etc in favour of proof of our relationship in the past two years?

Or should we play it safe and tell them our whole life story?

Safe to explain your entire story. The main point of the question is to:

1) Make sure you two have met in person within the last two years at least one time

2) Seeing if the relationship was started through a marriage broker or other business type arrangement

The longer the relationship it is better for them to justify that you are in a serious relationship.

However you must have met with each other in the last 2 years. If you met her 5 years fine, that's where the story begins.

We gave them an outline of our entire story along with a couple of emails/skype logs from the period to set the scene so to speak. Our main proof was passport stamps, photo's, my bank statements showing withdrawals in the US and a travel itinerary. In the answer to Q18 we referred to the evidence provided.

Detail how you have met in the last two years and include documentation. You will need to detail an ongoing relationship with documentation.
