is CSC trying to be slow on purpose? now the average time to get approved is 160 days for I-130 and 128 days for I-129F.. oh... I-129F is so much faster... I can't believe they won't hire volunteers to help with this... even student clubs can help with the entry and get some donation... are they just having a contest at CSC to see who has the biggest pile on their desk? Even I can do it much faster.. after all, it's just some data entry (didn't have to be data entry if they had a better system... like do it online)... I bet when they go "online", it will be much slower... because then they have to go find your records (instead of you sending it in)...yeah, what a great plan :angry:

Some people should be fired. These are public servants, not friggin royalty. And they suck at doing even the most basic of jobs, data entry.

I live about 8 miles from CSC and they are currently hiring all kinds of positions from data entry to biometrics and collections assistants and adjudications support through all shifts during the day, at least until 11:00pm at night. Trouble is you have to be a USC to apply so that perhaps narrows down the number of applicants and of course second shift may not be that appealing! They are using numerous agencies to hire these positions so at least they are being active in trying to alleviate some of the backlogs and speed up times.

Give credit where credit is due.

When I went through my K1 at CSC the average wait was 150 days so actually things are not as bad as they once wee!!

let's take a look at your approval date to interview date... 7 months.. you think we will get our visa in 7 months? I probably will get approved much later than that... so what are you talking about?

they are also approving your K1 faster than K3... they are approving temporary workers and K1 the most, and putting us on the backend.. just because our applications are cheaper, and that it takes longer to process... which would you rather have, an application that takes 1 month to view or 1 week?

I'm just thinking that they can hire more student workers (if they want to save money compared to hiring full-time)... the students can help enter the data into the system... about being prepared.. they should have thought about expansion issues years ago... not everyone is planning "for the present" only... that is why so many Americans are in debt... if the government follows what an average American does, then we are in big trouble..

in a word.... INEFFICIENT... that is my say on it... they should do planning if they know the population will increase... expansion does take more money (then charge more, lots of K3 people are willing to pay more to have faster approval times)...

I wasn't complaining about my timeline... but for all the people that applied.. no need to get mad at me, perfect.. just throwing out ideas... I wasn't mad at you too, just mad at the inefficient system that they have... I (and everyone here) know they can do MUCH BETTER than this.. for example, system go down and they stop processing applications... they should have a backup for that and switch over right away... (RAID Mirroring system??).. or at least have real-time processing times... what is their 6 MONTHS time now? like my previous topic, I think that they are getting lazy with that timeline... I can put 5 YEARS there, and that means we can't contact them for 5 years? give me a break...

desert_fox, why don't you fill out your timeline to help everyone else before attacking others? I don't see you even helping out your fellow Visajourney members... being a "Diamond" member doesn't really help if you post a lot of BS and try to attack others... I just trying to post some ideas... volunteering might help if they are tight on money? They should find other ways to solve the problem if one way (the main way of getting funds) don't help out... they can still raise money in other ways... just like lots of different organizations/charities out there...

I understand your frustration, I really do and I am sorry you are having to wait so long.

I personally don't want a 'student helper' or a 'volunteer' even looking at our application. There is a lot of personal information on the G325A and I-130. Plus those documents are important, they need to be tracked and taken care of responsibly.

Ideally they would open another processing center in an area where they could get more employees.

I'm wondering because I work for the government too, and we have student workers given access to fix computers and go into systems where we have member data (SSN, address, location)... maybe not as much as USCIS I would think... I guess I don't know how long to take for us.. they are almost done with March people for CSC (compared to June people for VSC), so that's good... lucky you are in VSC :thumbs: they usually are the fastest..

actually sometimes student workers work harder than "regular employees"... since they are on "probation" time anyway for the first 6 months here, they (and new employees) tend to work very hard.. you didn't really have to apologize for USCIS being slow.. thank you anyway =) much appreciated... at least we can see each other on webcam when we can't see each other in person... =) I will be going back in October to be with her for 3 weeks... :dance: :dance: I really miss her, just like how you guys miss your loved ones too.. so we can get a little crazy now and then..

I feel your frustration Gogo!!! :angry: These people should have addressed the back log of applications a long time ago. What a joke when they actually type on the NOA we have sent your application to CSC to speed up the process!!!! UNBELIEVEABLE!!!!!! The transfer applications all the time but, when they go to CSC they are stuck! But, one bright note here we are almost in someone hands at CSC to review our applications. The back log is going to continue and I feel very sorry for the other month filers that have filed after us. Our applications should have never went to CSC and VSC should have processed them. We would have had our approvals but, this was to speed up the process. :crying: :blink:

I think one difficulty with CSC and hiring is the shifts paired with the fact that may of the people in age groups which are being suggested here are actually still at school, so the shifts are not convenient. Also, compared with other opportunities the data entry and support jobs are relatively low paid for Orange County ($11.28 ph).

Actually if/when I become a citizen I would apply for one of the higher level jobs there myself!
