Sometimes you wonder how long to go on offering sympathy and help to these people... the conclusion I've come to now is that it's best of offer them what help you can with a problem ONCE. Bad things can happen to anyone and they deserve what advice and support you can give them. But not over and over and over and over and over and over again...

If they choose not to take it it's up to them. If they choose to ignore it entirely and to get into an even bigger mess, well that's their life and their choice... the only life you can really be responsible for is your own. You can't change someone who doesn't want to be changed, and you can't make somebody else grow up. They have to do it for themselves if and when they finally realise that they need to. (but sometimes I wonder how many years a person can take to do it!

Drama Queens are PITA too... one of my mother's sisters rules supreme in that area. If you fall and break your leg, somehow it means you're avoiding her... argh.

Yeah I know people like that.... and I try to help them with their problems but I never let myself get too involved or I get extremely stressed.

How do you guys think lawyers feel? They have to take on EVERYBODY'S problems !! lol.....

Maybe that's why sometimes they become somebody's problem!

but for the attention seekers ... the more you give them, the more they take that as an invitation to suck energy from you. it's extremely difficult NOT to get involved, but you DO need to learn to keep your emotional distance and just lend an ear and give factual advice. people like this aren't really interested in hearing what you have to say or the helpful advice your trying to give ... they just want the attention and the spotlight.

Last summer my own life was like a train wreck (I hate admitting that, but its true). It seemed like one bad thing led to another.

However, now the main drama of my life is what the USCIC puts me through and rather than get into it with friends and family who have no comprehension, I come to VJ where everyone understands and I usually feel better.

I look forward to peace once my husband is home.

The past year has been like a trainwreck for me and Craig to the point that we've both felt like we've just been moving from one disaster to another. Before that life was ticking along pretty well and I hope that it settles down again very soon. I have a feeling that if we get just through the next couple of months life is going to be a whole lot easier.
