Snow? Crazy! It's 27C here in VA. :D

You know, I thought about it a bit earlier this year in Toronto during a freezing cold snap where with the windchill it was close to -30C and I was walking my dog and slipping all over the ice... I'm really not going to miss the cold. :D

And yes, I know that others in Canada endure much worse winters, but hey, I'm from Toronto and we're whiners about cold! :P

My friend, Kristi, just said it was -2 there in Canada where she is. I'm so jealous......I'm longing for freezing temps to kill all the mold spore in the air and relieve me of my allergies for a while.

Life's just a crazy ride on a run away train

You can't go back for what you've missed

So make it count, hold on tight find a way to make it right

You only get one trip

So make it good, make it last 'cause it all flies by so fast

You only get one trip

It's funny, when you watch the U.S. news they say ohh an 'Alberta Clipper' is coming down to cool us off or ohh the cold air from Canada is moving down here Tuesday.

Whereas here we blame it all on the Arctic. Wonder who they blame on their news :)

Oh and where are you Eka?

One of D's jobs at the Canadian Embassy is to read some of the letters that come in. Last fall a guy from Michigan wrote the ambassador and said that because of the cold Canadian air entering the US his heating bills were much higher than normal and he wanted the Canadian gov't to reimburse him!

I wonder if a big wall on our northern borders will keep out that air.

At the very least it might keep some of the hot air from the US from entering Canada!

Puts a whole new meaning to the term "border fence"

Over here, it's... what, 24C? I almost wish for real snow, not 2-inch Vancouver slushy. Then I remember I'm moving to PA, land of the bitter winter.

Oh and where are you Eka?

Northern Manitoba.

Not quite a national emergency if we get snow in September up here but I wasn't expecting to get to see it again before the interview/move. Doubt I'll be seeing much of it in North Carolina. *sigh*

parents are in Saskatoon, and they say they may get a few of the white stuff tonight!!

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

Oh dear. Well personally I can't stand the stuff. The thing is, snow is pretty - but I hate driving in it, I hate when you put your foot on the brake and the car keeps on going - it's so not good. Flowers, green leaves, warm breeze, clear sidewalks, cars that are warm - now that's good stuff :)
