I have a question about the interview/medical dates.

Do these dates actually come with Packet 3, or do you get them after you send back packet 3? Is this what comes in Packet 4?

My case has already left the NVC on Sept 5, so just waiting for Packet 3 now from London.

You arrange the medical date yourself by calling the doctor and giving your case number. Since you've gone through NVC, I thought that the next thing you would receive is the "packet 4" with the DS-230 Part 2 and the interview date.

If I was a praying person I would be praying that MargotDarko is correct - but I am not so I just WISH

My doubts are centred around the idea of them sending an interview date where at no point in the NVC process have they asked me to get a police certificate birth certificate etc etc....

If Margot is correct I will send her a cyber box of chocolates... but I still have not found ANYONE who has done CR1 through a STANDARD embassy like London who can confirm that the first letter from the embassy is the interview date...

It will make 4 weeks difference if it's just one letter.

The fact that I have not heard anything since 'case complete 'august 17 and left NVC 23rd, makes me suspect that I am waiting for an interview date as they could have slammed a pckt 3 in the mail a long time before now...

BUT I am not sure - I have grave doubts... alan

ps did the nvc letter to YOU mention medical/police/birth certs - mine did NOT

But when the NVC sends the instructions for DS-230, they give you a link (the one that takes you to the standard processing procedure) the information on that link tells you to start collecting the documents (birth cert, police cert, etc) so I guess there would be no need for packet 3. I am going to be going through the same thing so I hope that there is no packet 3.

The NVC already asked for the DS-230 a long time ago and I completed and returned it. I also followed the link that was on the instructions that came for the DS-230 to check which documents I needed to have ready for the interview. I actually already knew about the police certificates, so I've got them already as well.

I'm not sure what else they could want from me for a "Packet 3" so I'm hoping the next thing to come will be Interview date and instructions for making the medical appointment. Also, not sure if it changes anything but we are doing an IR-1 visa as we've been married over two years now.

You guys are all so great. Can I ask your honest opinions? My case left the NVC on 5th September. My husband and I were looking on moving to the states by 12th October. Is this even slightly a possibility according to normal timeframes?

Many thanks!!!

Hi,

We, my wife and I are in the same boat as you, our documents were sent from the nvc on the 29th August, we've not heard anything yet but I'm expecting packet 4 and no packet 3. Though somebody somewhere on the k3 forum told me it could take 4 weeks till I get the packet 4 in the post and then by looking at most people it'll take another month or so.

I keep waiting and checking what the postman brings everyday! I guess we'll know soon I hope!!!

p.s. I think Alan (Saywhat) will be first to hear his left 23rd August, mine was the 29th August and yours now the 5th September will be interesting to see who hears first and what we get in the post!

About October 12th... That would be amazing if it happened. As far as I'm aware, UK applicants when they receive their letter usually find the interview date is about a month out from the day they receive the letter. Also, it is probably becoming busier now with people wanting to make the move before Christmas/end of year. Good luck though! :)

NO PACKET 3 !!!!

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?showuser=21264

more and more evidence accumulates there is not a packet 3 for CR1 via service centers and 1st letter is interview......

margotdarko's virtual chocolates are beginning to take shape.........

I am still reckoning on 6 weeks from the letter and the letter 5 weeks after august 23 (left NVC) so mid November...

I had that as the target with 3 weeks for pckt 3 and 4 to to pckt 4 so I am no better off...

It's all becoming clear...

Ok well 30th ish of sept for pckt 4 is the new target......14th nov for interview - exactly one week too late...

I will sit it out in Tenerife once I know the date and the medical is done...

It will take a couple of weeks to get 'case completed' if you are lucky and all is ok on final review (mine wasnt)

But you are still a long way off.

I dont i know if Morrocco is a standard embassy so i dont know what happens from there...

I think there might be other threads which are more appropriate than this one....

If Rabat/Casablanca is a standard embassy and they are arranging your interview rather than nvc, then opinion seems to be leaning towards only a packet 4...

If NVC arranges your interview and collected documents in advance - then it's non standard and I don't know...

but every embassy has a huge difference in its interview wait times - so you might be best to look at 'immigration timelines' and do some searches specifying Rabat embassy
