Wow this is a long time, u sent ur I-485 in Octobat 2006 and u still waiting for it ! why takes so long ? have you tried to make infopass ? or phone call ? to see whats going on with ur case? or have u received any REF. or have u received anything from them since u sent it ?!

if not, my opinion to make infopass.

about when can u get ur green card i am so sorry i cant tell u, and i dont know in what kind of visa u are in in state, but i think next step is, if they dont wanna anything from u, u will receive a letter from them for ur interview date!

Did you take a look at the immigration timelines link at the top of the page? It took Claudeth's AOS about five months from mailing until she received the card. Good luck

Are you sure it says it was transferred to the NBC and not CSC? Normally if it states "for faster processing" files have been transferred to CSC. The NBC/MSC in Missouri are where the files are usually housed until a local office requests them for an interview. When files are transferred to the CSC, if historic experience holds true, the processing is done there and GC granted without an interview ultimately.

If it is truly still in Missouri then you can take a look at your local office's processing times for I-485 at www.uscis.gov to get a rough idea (very rough) of when to expect an interview. If at the CSC it normally is faster but hard to pinpoint a date (it seems to be within a few months after the file transferred there, generally).

Perhaps they are stuck in the FBI name check along with so many of us... http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=6694 Although, having the case transferred to the NBC suggests that work is being done on their application. Have you tried calling USCIS "Cusotmer Service"? Next best thing is to schedule an InfoPass or contact your Senator and ask him/her to enquire with USCIS on your behalf.

Yes, that's what makes no sense to me. Why would it be transferred to NBC when they are usually sitting there collecting dust in the first place waiting to be sent to the local offices and the notice he just received states it was transferred for "faster processing" (and as far as I know that's always meant it was transferred to the CSC).

It sounds as if there have only been the bios done and nothing since until this NOA in September. I guess at least there's at least some action being taken now but it still sounds strange.

That clears up part of my confusion; it doesn't say for "faster" processing. Lord knows where your file has been since I thought they went from the Chicago lockbox to the NBC anyway for processing. But, it's there now.

No, it's not been moved again; the 2nd notification is just telling you that that office has received the file and it's there until more action is taken. Since it's at the NBC it might get sent to your local office when it's time for your interview (and you will have to check your area's current processing date) or perhaps sent to the CSC if it's reviewed and determined that no interview is required and would be approved there.

You are outside your local office's processing times by a few months, so you should make an infopass appointment and see if you can find out what is going on.
