3-4 lbs beef roast

1. Season rost with salt to taste, put roast, potatoes, carrots, and celery in slow cooker.

2.Add onion soup mix and water.

3.Cover.

4.Cook on LOW 6-8 hours

In case you don't have onion soup mix at home

*Homemade Dry Onion Soup Mix

4 teaspoons beef bouillon granules

8 teaspoons dried onion flakes

1 teaspoon onion powder

1/4 teaspoon seasoned pepper

Cut a 6-inch square of heavy duty foil.

Place all ingredients in center of foil.

Fold foil to make an airtight package.

Label with date and contents.

Store in a cool, dry place.

Use within 6 months.

*This makes about the same amout of mix that a regular store bought envelope of french onion soup mix contains

I love my crockpot too.

Main thing I cook in it is chili.....some beans, some meat, some spices, some cut up veggies like tomatoes and onions. I can't be more specific cause I just throw in whatever I feel like most times.

I've made beef stew in it.

My husband cooks oxtail and goat in it.....makes it really tender when he is ready to spice it up.

Oh, and when I make big batches of mashed potatoes for Thanksgiving or Christmas, I like to keep them in there and keep them warm.

Life's just a crazy ride on a run away train

You can't go back for what you've missed

So make it count, hold on tight find a way to make it right

You only get one trip

So make it good, make it last 'cause it all flies by so fast

You only get one trip

Ok one more good roast recipe. This is another verion of roast that tastes great.

1 beef roast, any kind

1 (1 1/4 ounce) package dried brown gravy mix

1 (1 1/4 ounce) package dried Italian salad dressing mix

1/2 package dried ranch dressing mix

1/2 cup water

Veggies (cheffs choice optional)

Mix the dried mixes together in a bowl

Rub roast all over with the mix.

Place beef roast in crock pot and added your veggies

Sprinke the remaining mix on top.

Pour the water around the roast.

Cook on low for 7-9 hours.

*NO salt will be needed as the mixes will take care of that. If you add salt you may find it too salty. In the event that you like food on salty side then you can opt to use the whole envelope of dried ranch dressing instead of half.
