All,

My wife got her NOA 2 for 129F & 130 at the same time. I am assuming that the 129F will be sent on and the 130 kept behind correct me if I am wrong. She will be going to the Chennai embassy for interview. What should I be preparing now so everything is ready at the time of interview?

Raj

Yes USCIS assumes in K-3 cases you will file for AOS from the K-3 visa, and usually holds the I-130 petition to save NVC, consulates, and embassies any extra work.

OUR TIME LINE Please do a timeline it helps us all, thanks.

Is now a US Citizen immigration completed Jan 12, 2012.

Yes, the I130 will be kept behind if you do nothing to go the next step (pay fee, agent of choice paperwork etc.). I

Some people would advise that if you had both approved at the same time, try going for the CR1. It will save you money by not having to apply for AOS (I think its lke $1000 now?). It may take a few extra months but the fact that you have NOA2 for both shows that it is moving quickly for you.

Check out Packet 3 and Packet 4. Also it varies from embassy to embassy in India.

Chennai does not send you packet 3. It straight sends you Packet 4 along with the interview letter. Mumbai sends you packet 3. After you submit your packet 3, they'll send you packet 4 and the interview date.

You can star working on the following:

1. Get the local police clearance certificate. (no need for the interview letter)

2. Get the RPO Police clearance certificate (may require interview letter, I know Bangalore RPO requires it).

2a. If the visa applicant has resided in a foreign country for periods of 1 yr or more after the age of 16, need police clearance certs. from those places as well.

3. I-134 notarized (to be signed by the petitioner, supporting documents are also required depending upon if you are self-employed or employed).

3a. Employer letter

3b. Bank statement

4. Marriage certificate (am sure you already have this one)

5. Birth certificate of the beneficiary (original in English or translated)

6. Tax returns for last year. (1040 and W-2)

7. Copy of Natz. cert. (if it applies to you) and copy of US Passport.

8. Divorce decree(s). etc (if applicable)

9. Evidence of relationship (photos of engagement, ,arriage together with family etc. emails letters and the kitchen sink :-))

If possible send USD 100 cash, this will be accepted at the embassy as processing fees for the visa.

Medical exam is also required from the US consulate approved doctors, but can't do it without the interview letter.
