Hello All,

If some one could answer the following question.

A friend of mine married a foreign male in Florida, and has now begun the visa process. He has his temp green card, but has already shown that he has no interest in her, has moved out, and works without helping. It is obvious he is only here for his citizenship and using her.

Is there anything she can do? Can she stop the process and stop him geting his green card by using her?

THankyou for any help you can give

David

wow, we have already recieved our Biometrics appointments. It is only 2 1/2 weeks away.

It seems to be moving rather quickly.

This is great.

What do you mean about "temporary" green card? There's no such thing as a "temporary" green card. There is an I-551 stamp but the person would still get a real card and be considered a permanent resident. What did they file for? What did he arrive on? What is his current status?

You need to provide more information before anyone can answer your questions.

Are you talking about the conditional GC? You have a conditional GC if you were married less than 2 years at the time the GC is approved. In that case the person has to apply to remove the condition and they'll have to prove that the relation is bona fide. As obviously it's not I would assume this is the time when your friend will be able to say: there is no relationship, I feel this person is only here to get the papers.

But really they should talk first and figure out what's wrong and if indeed he is only here for the GC and used her.

You say they began a visa process but that he has a temporary GC, that's confusing. Either you are filing for a visa such as K3 or IR1 or you have a GC already.

08.2006: Entered with a B-2 visa.
