Salvadoran Embassy/Visa Info Line, So frustrating

At the end of August we received packet 4 telling us to go ahead and call to set up an interview. We called at the start of September (everyone else on here seemed to get put on the list at the start of the next month so we waited until then) and we weren't on the list. They told us to call back on the 11th, today, because the list should be updated by then. So, we called back today and they said we still aren't on the list. I'm so frustrated because not only are we not on the list but they said that they submitted a report to the embassy to get us on the list and then said, so check back in the first ten days of each month!!! How long do you really have to wait for your name to show up?

What the heck is the point of packet 4? It is nothing but a one page letter saying that everything is ready, what to bring to the interview and that you can now make your appointment. Why do they send it out before your name is even on the list allowing you to make an appointment? Is this just the lag time in getting the information from the embassy to the outsourced infoline folks in Mexico? If so, the new fees better improve their technology because there is no reason that they can't have real time updates.

Thanks for letting me rant. I'm just so ready for him to be here! I don't know how much more of this I can take.

Each embassy or consulate that conducts K-1 interviews may do it their own way. Also this part of the process is handled under the Department of State. The fees paid to the USCIS is under the Department of Homeland Security.
