hmmm got my electric bill here, lemme see - $168.28

service charge of $12

usage 133.95 for 9.75 kw, 1288 kwh

then 20.66 for something called eca and county tax of 1.67.

works out to $17.259 per kw, $.13065 per kwh? is that bad?

Based on cost divided by kilowatts used it would be 0.10326

yeah did that math afterward, not much of a major difference. still more than gary pays.

i am thinking of buying sanita a high powered pellet rifle so she can pick off some hawks in the area..

the .177 pellet guns can go 900-1100 fps, but i prefer the harder hitting .22 pellet.

I heard about that on the news and thanks for letting me know I could check on that online now. I'm only getting $135.00 back. I'll take it though! Not bad considering it's only for the period Jan 07 - Sept 07. Do you know the timeline for the rest of the credits through 2009?

To be honest, I didn't think my bill went up all that much from past years (especially considering Ameren had a rate freeze here in IL for what? 10 years?). At least I haven't fallen down of a heart attack when I've opened my bill this summer with the hot weather we've had and the poor AC working overtime. I do try to keep the thermostat reasonable though. :innocent:

I've always thought our natural gas costs have been worse than the electric bills. I remember a few years ago when Nicor screwed up and paid about triple for what they should have and those bills...well, I did nearly fall down of a heart attack!!!! I don't know why more people didn't complain about that. Maybe they're dead now from either freezing or seeing their bills!!!!

Anyone that lives in Illinois and has Ameren knows that the rates doubled Jan 1. The stated legislature has passed a rate relief bill and help is on the way. I just checked on http://www.ameren.com and find that I will be getting a $208 rebate check! Anyone else that lives in Illinois needs to check the web site to see what your getting back!

Whoa, Gary has become a Democrat? :o ...or worse *gasp* a communist supporter? j/k Gary, but you got a give credit where credit is due. :P

“More than two years ago, I voiced my strong opposition to the auction process because it was clear to me that it would benefit large utilities and their affiliates at the expense of consumers. The reverse auction was approved anyway, and I urged lawmakers to send me a bill that would make sure electric consumers wouldn’t be hit with shocking rate hikes. This bill is a good starting point. After carefully reviewing it, I believe it will provide immediate relief and put us in a position to keep working on longer-term electricity issues that need to be addressed to ensure that electricity in Illinois is affordable,” said Governor Blagojevich (D).
