Calm down, dealing with immigration takes patience. If you are filing with good intentions and in good faith, you really have no reason to get mad...

If it is a large company then their HR department should be well versed on the requirments of the I-9 and if you have a unrestricted SSN and a state Drivers licence then you do not need your greencard to comply with the I-9 requirments....

I guess they are not aware of that, cause when asked about status and I let them know they changed the way of even talking to me.... my husband wants to kick their asses!! LOL

sorry but some people just do not like it (they dont lioke to deal with it)

what you mean about unrestricted SS... my stills says with employment authorization.... should I change that? and how?

The company can not ask you about your status or demand to see your greencard..... have a read of the Empolyers handbook that goes along with the I-9 it will tell you what they can and cannot ask for and do....

As for your SSN you should have gone to the SSA and got that changed once you had been approved for your greencard.... I would go and do that now taking your expired Greencard and the extension letter with you...

07/01/2008 : still waiting for a miracle after 390 days of suffering....

The company can not ask you about your status or demand to see your greencard..... have a read of the Empolyers handbook that goes along with the I-9 it will tell you what they can and cannot ask for and do....

As for your SSN you should have gone to the SSA and got that changed once you had been approved for your greencard.... I would go and do that now taking your expired Greencard and the extension letter with you...

You know in theory of course the company cannot ask for your greencard, but in reality, a lot do... So as a job applicant, what will you do? Pick a fight with the company you hope will hire you? Not very likely to happen....
