As I am putting together 3 years of my husband's tax returns for the interview, we cannot find his 2004 W2. We can find his tax return just not the W2. Can I request this from the IRS? Thanks guys and gals.

You can get the transcript from the IRS, wouldn't that be enough?

You can request the official transcript from the IRS - you could use this (these if you order all three years) in place of your copies - transcripts contain all official information and do not require any supporting documents (W-2, 1099's etc).. You can request the for free from the IRS' website. Takes a couple of weeks I believe...

The IRS will not give you the W-2s. You can get copies from the old employers if you wish, but it would be easier just to get the transcripts from the IRS.

10/01/2005: Married in Toronto

02/15/2006: Began Canadian Immigration

09/19/2007: Withdrew CIC application (they still hadn't processed anything)

10/01/2007: Moved back to U.S.

IR-1 application through Montreal Consulate

10/26/2007: I-130 mailed to CA Service Center

10/29/2007: USPS confirmation of receipt of I-130

02/13/2008: NOA-1 received (107 days)

07/02/2008: I-130 approved

07/22/2008: AOS filed including EAD and AP

07/25/2008: NOA-1s for all 3 received

08/20/2008: Biometrics appointment

08/22/2008: Received RFE for Affadivit of Support and Medical

10/21/2008: Submitted I-865W in lieu of co-sponsor and medical info to NSC

11/14/2008: online case status not updated since filing of AOS in July 2008

01/20/2009: Received another RFE for Affadavit of Support Info

02/02/2009: Responded to RFE with brand new AOS based on 2008 tax return (if that doesn't shut them up, dunno what will)

02/19/2009: EAD card received in mail (no updates on Online Case Status ever made)

02/23/2009: AP received (again, no online updates)

02/26/2009: Received interview appointment letter for 4/6/09

04/06/2009: AOS approved for unconditional GC

04/21/2009: GC received

Just a heads up, if you have a fax machine that you can be physically at, they will fax your transcripts to you. I have been trying to get my tax transcripts for 2 months, finally got fed up and called the IRS last night ( everytime I would call the person would say that they were "never sent out", and they would "send them in tonights mail". After several phone calls and no transcripts, and interview right around the corner, I needed quicker action :whistle: ). The guy at the IRS said that so long as I can physically be at the fax machine, he could fax my transcipts. He did say though that the reason they will not fax if your not there at the fax machine is for privacy protection.

02-26-05 Married

09-05-05 Permanent Resident of Canada

06-18-07 Mailed in husbands I-130 to US Consulate in Toronto

06-20-07 US Consulate in Toronto recieves I-130 packet via Expresspost packet

07-12-07 Call from Toronto Consulate, advised to call to confirm or make an appointment.

07-13-07 Called and spoke with Toronto Consulate, set appointment for 07-17-07

07-17-07 Interview at Consulate,APPROVED

08-07-07 Packet 3 arrived!!

08-20-07 Mailed DS-230 and Checklist to Montreal

08-21-07 Montreal received DS-230 and Checklist

09-04-07 Packet 4 from Montreal arrives !!

09-06-07 Medical scheduled for 09-19-07

09-19-07 Hubbie has medical, all went well, results to be mailed on 09-21-07

09-25-07 Pick up medical from fed-ex

10-05-07 Interview.........APPROVED !!!!

10-10-07 Recieved passport with Visa inside (all done for a few months)

11-08-07 Hubbie activated visa at Queenston/Lewis POE

12-19-07 Husband finally back home in Illinios, used Sarnia POE

Our Immigration approval took 3months, 2 weeks, and 5 days

I definitely vote for the fax machine option if it's available. My husband requested transcripts about a month or so ago and so far... nothing. Already had my interview, didn't need the transcripts anyway (wanted them "just in case") but still to this day, no transcripts!

If your husband is chummy with anyone in payroll, he can try and ask them for a copy of his W2.

Oliver got his transcripts yesterday in the mail. He called last week. I thought that was pretty fast

Weird... I wonder why my husband's never arrived? He probably did it wrong or something. :D (just kidding)

If he has a fax machine at work i will tell him about the fax option. Jared is always there any ways so it would be convenient.
