Sure its in West Viirgina and but as I said im not sure if your in the same jurisdiction. My prints were taken in Texas. But here is the number I think they are open 8 to 4 or 4.30 pm if i rember rightly

number is (304) 6252000 just tell the operator or the switch that you want to check on the status of your biometrics they will switch you through to another area.

Good luck with that

Thanks for the phone number to the FBI. Ok, so get this. :crying: I did call on Carina's behalf this morning, and was told that her biometrics report has NEVER been received. This is the biometrics that she completed on DECEMBER 31, 2004!! I asked her why there would be such a delay, and she said I had to take that up with INS.

So next I call the mis-information line. It didn't take me too long to get though to a live operator, and she was nice enough, but she sure does know how to read a word track! No matter which way I explained that there HAS to be something wrong if Carina's biometrics have not even been RECEIVED by the FBI, she just kept referring to the fact that the Chicago district office is only processing AOS cases filed by November 2004, so that since we filed for Carina in December, 2004 and even though she had her AOS interview six months ago, that she would not be able to send a referral to check for problems.

I even explained how there was a whole lot of confusion at the ASC when we were there, since Carina happend to be 13 at the time but would be turning 14 in July. No one there seemed to have any clue on how many fingers needed to be printed, or how many photographs taken due to her age status.

Well, maybe I should have asked to speak with an immigration officer; but instead I said fine and immediately got online and scheduled an INFOPASS appointment for the two of us in Chicago on April 27, which is Carina's next day off from school. I will just have to take the morning off of work to go down there and rattle some cages.

What a mess. I have seen many people who filed months after Carina having successful interviews and getting greencards (some even without interviews!), and it just makes me feel sick for her. Explaining it to her is even more difficult and now I don't know what to tell her!

Could be the name check, could be the fingerprints...we don't know what the problem is now. Just know that someone has dropped the ball and a 14 year old honor student is really puzzled as to why this is happening to her, among others.

Kind of hard to say good things about our country sometimes when our immigration system is this messed up.

Thanks for letting me vent and stay tuned....

Thanks to all for the guidance and support and speedy processing to all!

I'm wanting to try this but too chicken. Those are the men in black - LOL.

And I'm wondering if by asking for the results of biometrics is the same as the 'namecheck' that's holding up our AOS approval or if the biometric check is merely a 'fingerprint check'. The FBI has about 12 databases they sift through. The Clarksburg WV FBI office is rather large and modern- they have lots of facilities there including a crime lab. I guess I'm just not sure that phoning them will tell you if you're about to get your green card.

Yea....but in any case I was none too happy to hear they have received NOTHING from a biometrics appointment my step-daughter completed almost 1 1/2 years ago. The problem is not the men in black...it's USCIS and unfortunately we are at the mercy. I am not going to stand around and wait though; I am going to do what I can to get this done.

My husband is as fustrated as you are about my situation. What is most irritating is the disrespect of not telling us anything. I'm so fed up. I wish I could pack and go home now. Alex.

If its just a way to make time pass so they can determine if our marriage is "real" or not, I can understand (standing the test of time). But at least let her be a real person in the meantime. Give her status, let her work if she can find it, let her travel, enable her to get ID cards, etc. Its just a terrible situation and I'm still answering questions from friends and family "Isn't she a citizen automatically because she married you?"

What a coincidence! Actually we probably won't see you now (but you never know!!) since I changed the appt to 2:30pm to coincide with Marina's meeting with a recruiter from the Chicago Public Schools that afternoon too. Marina works in the morning so we had to do it in the afternoon so we can all drive downtown together. The CPS office is only a block away from the immigration office!

Interestingly enough it was pretty easy to cancel and reschedule the infopass appt. Anyway, good luck on your interview...I bet you will have your greencard very soon!

Just an update...since last week I called to check on the biometrics (fingerprinting) for Carina (was told they were never received?? ); I decided yesterday to call and check on her name check status. I called the FBI NNCP phone number and was told that they no longer give name check status to individuals. I am still waiting on a response to the e-mail I sent several months ago to FBI NNCP e-mail address.

Info pass here we come!
