Italian Birth Certificate !

hi guys, my wife doesn't have a english birth certificate, so when i recevied my interview letter it says there, should to bring her birth certificate with her to the interview. i dont think so they will accept the italian one right ! so can she still translate it to herself or do we need to send it some where to translate it for us !!! and should the translator be a licensed right ?

i had my BC translated by my friend and she stated on it that she is fluent in that language and so on ... let me see if i can find a copy!

I translated my husband's and put the same statement MsA says her friend put. No RFE.

We had had my husband's BC translated in Brazil over a year ago but when we sent other translations we also used that statement below...

Here is what USCIS says on this matter.

Please submit certified translations for all foreign language documents. The translator must certify that s/he is competent to translate and that the translation is accurate.

The certification format should include the certifier's name, signature, address, and date of certification. A suggested format is:

I [typed name], certify that I am fluent (conversant) in the English and ________ languages, and that the above/attached document is an accurate translation of the document attached entitled ______________________________.

It can be done by a friend that is competent and fluent in both languages, by making the notation at the bottom of the form they are certifying their translation.
