I see that some of the Senators started things off by saying they are not going to believe what he says before he even started. Nice bias there. I also noticed that the General started off by saying the report is entirely his and wasn't "fed" to him by anyone.

This is a General that was approved by 100% of the Senate and his words need to be taken seriously.

I was very impressed with the General's presentation. Right now, Chairman Lantos (D-CA) is questioning the General. I don't know if you caught what Congressman Lantos said prior to the General's report, but it was very well stated.

There were a couple of Republicans that brought up MoveOn.org's Ad...but I thought that was just a distraction...propaganda, in whatever form shouldn't enter into this very important hearing.

 Rep. Ros-Lehtinen (R-FA) brought up the MoveOn.org Ad pleading members of congress to distance themselves from it, only to be admonished, "Nobody needs to distance themselves from something they are not associated with." ...she then flinched, and mumbled, "Take it easy."

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

General Petraeus believes that we can succeed in Iraq but we need more time. Anyone's thoughts on this?

Depends who's paying.

Good point. I don't think any Presidential Candidate is willing to be up front about the idea of us basically having a permanent military presence in Iraq. I believe he is right, in a sense. The problem is...at what price? We're already regarded as occupiers rather than liberators. Iran's got their fingers in this mess and it's going to take cooperation from them unless we're considering military action against them which, IMO, would be suicide.

What a f##kin mess it is...no matter what, we've lost so much already. :(

I just don't think his credentials show that. In any case though, what Presidential candidate is going to campaign by saying we are going to staying in Iraq for a very long time? This is the political hot potato that nobody is going to touch.
