Well, we finally got the K1 & K2 visas today after having to deal with 2 days of the "Fraud Prevention Unit". I guess the Consular Officer that interviewed us felt that my finacee's daughter might be stolen  So she had to go through a long interrogation and then we had to wait while they verfied all the documents. It wasn't fun.

Just a note to anyone going through Juarez, after you get to Building B and get interviewed, if for any reason they send you back to building C, it's because they have transfered your case to FPU for one reason or another, be ready, it's not going to be pleasant.

In the end we finally got the Visas at about 4pm today, and can finally get out of here. I hope I never have to come back here, it was hell.

Also, it seems to depend on the day you come and how the guards feel weather or not they let you in with the applicant.

All you have to do is go to the information window at entrance 1, which is for American Services, make up some reason why you need to go in, (really all you have to do is talk real fast to the guard in english since it seems none of them speak it), he will ask for your ID, then give you a pass to get into building A, after you go through the entrance, instead of going into Building A, hook a right and head over toward B & C. I had to do this twice after they wouldn't let me in Thursday or today.

Christine,

My husband just had his medical on friday and he required the following vaccines

1. Tetanus (he actually got the Tetanus-diptheria vaccine in the states prior to interview

2. Varicela

3. MMR (measles, mumps and rubella in one vaccine)

He didnt have any vaccine records from childhood and that didnt seem to be a problem. You only need flu and pneumococcus if you are over a certain age.

These three vaccines were the only ones listed at the consulorio for the ages of 25-38, so if your husband falls into this age group you should be safe with these.

Also, they might require hepatitis b if your husband has any risk factors, but mine did not.

hope this helps!

sandy

We got the visa!!! :dance::dance::dance:

They don't seem to have the mumps or the chicken pox(varicela) vaccines here in stock.. We'll keep looking.

Thanks for the answers and the details.

and CONGRATULATIONS!

I don't have a list either but we stayed at the Holiday Inn Lincoln. I know a lot of people don't like it though. I didn't mind it. I am pretty picky about hotels also so if it didn't bother me it must be okay. I know there is a Holiday Inn Express which is supposed to be much nicer than the other Holiday Inn but it is also more expensive. I know there are several other hotels around but I am not sure how nice they are or what their prices are. I hope this helps.

Just couldn't stay my @ss away!

The first time we stayed off of Avenue Lincoln, I think it was called Suites Marta. We had a car so even though it was a little distance the room was nice and big, even had a sitting area. (This is when we discoved the restaurant El Torro Bronco, just a block away. We liked it so much we ate there on 2 nights and also on our return trip it was the last place we went before we left to go across the bridge to El Paso). We made the mistake of thinking we were done and checked out, so we just stayed in Hotel la Playa (DO NOT RECOMMEND). First they want a deposit and then the rooms suck.

The second time we stayed in Hotel Americano, it was OK, the restaurant even though it was small had wonderful food. The room was just ok, but it did not matter, because we were only there to sleep. It is just around the corner on Av. Hermanos Escobar.

We stayed at the Holiday Inn Lincoln, and I thought it was fine, and I'm picky. We got the breakfast buffet included on Friday - Monday for a really good price. I'd recommend it to anyone who wants a safe place near the consulate. We thought of staying in La Playita but were afraid to leave our paperwork, cell phones, laptop and digital camera in the room while we went to the consulate or were out and about in Juarez. We did the same in the Holiday Inn Lincoln (locked up inside our luggage) and had no problems.

Jeremiah 29:11-13 "For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans for wholeness and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will hear you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart"

Hey everyone! I just wanted to share the news that we finally got our appointment date set. It's May 3rd, so now we are going to start going about the business of getting ready to move to the US. I am very excited, and thank everyone here who has shared their experiences.

Our date was moved forward due to a medical emergency. It involved having a doctor fax a letter confirming the situation, then an email from me clarifying that we were asking for the appointment date to be moved forward.

Hello Everyone:

This site has been a great resource with many wonderful and insightful people. I have a question about packet 3. This is my timeline:

NOA 1: 11/22/2005

NOA 2: 02/22/2006

NVC: 03/02/2006 > snail mail, stated sent to Embassy Cuidad Juarez; El Paso

Currently I have not heard anything from the embassy. I conctacted them two weeks ago and they have not received the packet. So I contact NVC again to check for delivery information and they stated that they sent it to the embassy.

In general, how long does it take for packet 3 to be sent out? One month? I'm not sure and wanted to get an idea of others experience with Cuidad Juarez Embassy. In addition, does anyone have contact information for the embassy regarding fiance visas?

Thank you so much!
