The "The Black Guy" from the Cairo Embassy said 3 weeks ago that we would recieve my fiance's passport. It has been 5 weeks now, so how long does this processing usually take. I don't understand why they would say 3 weeks when infact it takes longer. Anyone know what is happening?

well...ive been waiting since 1/22/07.....

Wow, were you already approved and you are just waiting for the visa stamp? That is crazy what do they say when you write them? You should talk to your congress man.

04/09/07 - I-130 and I-129F approval email sent!!!!

04/26/07 - Packet 3 received

06/16/07 - Medical Examination

06/26/07 - Packet 3 SUBMITTED FINALLY!!!!

07/07/07 - Received pkt 4

07/22/07 - interview consular never bothered to show up for work.

07/29/07 - interview.

02/21/07 - I-129 NOA1

04/09/07 - I-130 and I-129F approval email sent!!!!

04/26/07 - Packet 3 received

I know how you feel believe me my man has been on A/P for 6 months now and his case didn't even transfer to DOS and we have no idea how much longer of a wait we have. I agree with Aymerlu by this time have already acquired the different illness of stress to put it lightly. I just pray ALOT!!! Hang in there believe me sooner or later it will end!!

7/19/2006----VSC recieved RFE (IMBRA).

8/25/2006----Recieved NOA2 Approval letter in the mail.

8/31/2006----Cairo Embassy recieved our petition.

9/24/2006----I emailed the Embassy reguarding my fiance's packet 3.

10/17/2006--Cairo sent packet 3 for the second time to my fiance. First one was never recieved.

10/19/2006--Packet 3 recieved.

12/20/2006--Packet 3 sent.

12/21/2006--Cairo Embassy recieved packet 3.

2/21/2007---Packet 4 recieved.

3/12/2007---Interview (He Passed)!

3/12/2007---Administrative Processing begins.............God please help me get through this!

7/17/2007---Our 2 Year Anniversay!!!

10/23/2007--7 months and 2 weeks of A/P and still waiting..........God help me!

4/22/2008---2nd Interview ( keep us in your prayers)

4/22/2008--He was approved for the Visa 2-3 weeks until he recieves it in the mail lets hope so!!

6/03/2008--VISA IN HAND! Thank you god!

7/03/2008--Our Wedding Day!

Please forgive my ignorance but what is DOS? And how do you know that your case is there? My fiance was told at his interview that it would be within a month that they had some Administrative Processes to do. But I can see that could be a black hole by reading the comments here.

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

Please forgive my ignorance but what is DOS? And how do you know that your case is there? My fiance was told at his interview that it would be within a month that they had some Administrative Processes to do. But I can see that could be a black hole by reading the comments here.

DOS is the Department Of State .. and in our situation all what matter about the DOS is two things ....

first : it's the connect between any American embassy and the FBI .

the embassy request the security check from the ( the foreign affairs office ) at the DOS .. the foreign affairs office transfer the request to the FBI .

when the FBI finish the clearance they send the report to the DOS and then the DOS transfer it to the embassy .

also the DOS

second : the DOS is the place where they have the entire data for any and every visa application .. they also have any update on the every case .

here is the DOS number ( 2026631225 ) then 1-0-0 to be able to talk to an operator
