I mailed off our I-485 AOS under my wife's K1 visa on August 19th, 2007 to the Chicago lockbox. It's now September 9th and still no Notice of Action in the mail. Is this a normal delay? How can I contact the Chicago lockbox and find out if they received it? Do I have to file again? Any ideas?

Thanks,

Brian

Did you happen to mail it Certified and/or Registered so it can be tracked? I don't think that's too abnormal a delay, it seems they are quite behind in processing at the moment, even to cash the checks.

I wouldn't worry for a bit yet but there isn't any way to check it other than that mentioned above, at least with the Chicago lockbox. They are just the initial processing point and send it on as needed. I certainly wouldn't file again since it's been less than a month.

Hang in there.

It took a little over a month to receive the biometrics appointment after we mailed Claudeth's AOS and EAD. Good luck
