I always think it's hilarious when a man buys a gigantic TV and claims it's for the family........... ;)

Well, I am sure it will be most days, with the exception of Sunday afternoon and Monday night....

What is your problem man? If you don't like my wifes thread then I invite you to stay out of it. But you will not talk to Luz that way. Understand??

Open box or no open box, $800 for a 50 inch Toshiba is a STEAL. You sure you didn't buy it off a street corner from a guy selling out of a van? :)

We really got a good deal, that is why we grab it when we saw at Circuit City..really good!:)

heh, no. It came from Circuit City. No interest for 3 years to boot. I just couldn't pass it up.

Luz is the most un-demanding person I have ever met. She has alway been happy with what I provided for her. But there was one thing she always said she wanted. A big TV. I must admit that I also wanted one very much. So when I saw this deal I thought it was time to give my baby what she wanted.

Oh my gosh! I completely missed that! Wow! We were just in Target yesterday, looking at Sunday's add that had a 38" for $799, so yeah, that is a good deal! I couldn't see myself paying anything more than that for a TV. When they go down to around the $400 range and I'll definitely consider getting one. Whenever I buy a DVD movie, I always try to get the wide screen version because the reformatted version just kills the original composition of the film. Add a surround sound mini-speaker system and I'd never leave my house. :P

Yep, I think you two got a great deal. The good thing about an open box TV is that it has also been burned in, so any defects or major problems should have appeared long ago. Whenever I get new computers, TV's or other electronics I tend to run them 24/7 for a few weeks to see if I can get defects to show ASAP.

TV like that would be $5K easy just 2-3 years ago. Even now $1500+ is probably normal.

Thing looks great. Hope you two have plenty of good movie and sports nights with family and friends around. Congrats.

You really should go to Circuit City. I got this deal at 0% interest with 3 years to pay. Costing me $30/month.
