I cannot find I-693A, just the I-1693 on the USCIS website.

My fiance entered on a K1 and we are getting married soon so we are working on the AOS/EAD.

When I read the guide it says K1 visa holders who have had a medical exam in the past year only need to provide the I-693A vaccination supplement.

But it seems it needs to be filled out be a doctor, my fiance had his medical exam done in Argentina, the envelope with the results were sealed and never returned to us- in the interview the embassy official put them in the "do not open envelope," and he had to give it to the immigration office when he entered the country. So, we don't have that record anymore.

We have a copy of his immunization record, does this mean we have to go to a doctor to have the vaccination supplement filled out and signed??

Thanks,

K and F

It's not I-693A . Peeps use that as they are to lazy to type I guess.

Form is Supplemental I-693

This should help also!

FEDERAL REGISTER INTERIM REGULATIONS at USCIS website, I quote:

"C. Medical Examinations

According to 8 CFR 245.5, aliens seeking to adjust status are required to undergo a medical examination performed by a designated civil surgeon to determine whether they are inadmissible under section 212(a)(1)(A) of the Act. To date, applicants for K nonimmigrant visas have been required to obtain a medical examination abroad pursuant to Department of State regulations at 22 CFR 41.81 prior to entry, and the medical examination is not repeated if they apply for adjustment of status within 1 year of the dat e the examination was performed. They are, however, required to submit with the adjustment of status application a vaccination assessment completed by a designated civil surgeon [DCS] in order to establish their compliance with the vaccination requirements under section 212(a)(1)(A)(ii) of the Act.

The Service will continue this same policy for the K-3/K-4 nonimmigrants. K-3/K-4 nonimmigrants who file their adjustment of status application within 1 year from the date of the medical examination overseas will not have to submit an additional medical examination. However, the Service notes that applicants whose medical examinations overseas revealed a “Class A†or “Class B†condition (as defined by 42 CFR 34.2( B ) ) must establish upon application for adjustment of status that they complied with those cond itions imposed on the initial admission. Failure to comply with those conditions means that a new medical examination will be required.

The DCS will figure out what shots if any she needs.

They normally have the form also. He will give you a sealed envelope with the form for you to submit to adjust status. Get a copy.

Thanks for the info...

How do we prove he had his medical exam within the last year? Do they just take it for granted because his K1 was issued in June? Or do we need documentation?

Good question if you don't have any records of when he took his medical.

For one K1 visas are only good for 6 months.

Doesn't document when he had the medical tho. My wife had hers 2 months prior to the interview and visa date.

Had her vaccination record tho.

Does his x ray have a name and date on it?

Just "reaching for straws".

You must have payment receipts or something that documents his medical.

Good Luck!

I am sure that your entire physical file (I-129F and evidence submitted to the Consulate abroad) was contained in the brown envelope, and therefore, the medical is also there with the office where you will have your AOS interview here. So they know when it was done.

Yes, your medical should have been transfered from your POE to the National Center and then they transfer it to your local office along with the other papers.

As for the supplement, the Civil Surgeon should have the papers in his/her office. Nothing wrong with brining an unfilled copy with you, but it's often not needed.
