Regarding the Medical exam for the IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa in Manila, is pregnacy a disqualifier? I have heard that women pregnant pass a certain point cannot take certain shots and they will be disqualified for the medical exam in Manila and the whole porcess have to be started again? Thanks and God Bless us all, BMB and JBB!

I suggest that if you have your vaccination record, to bring it with you. The medical exam could still be done, it's just that they will be limited to what could be or not be given or done to you given your condition. It also depends how far you are with your pregnancy.

No, pregnant women are not disqualified for medical exam, she can take all the examination except for the xray and shots, in that case she needs to get those in the US after she gave birth and prior to applying her AOS.

Wrong!

The panel physician at St Lukes will determine what vaccinations you can have and not have. You can also tell them you don't want any.

You'll be instructed to get the necessary vaccinations when are in the US after you have the baby and before you adjust status!

Being pregnant is not a reason to be disqualified. She may or may not have the CXR done, or she can wear an "abdominal shield" for that. MMR and Varicella cannot be given to pregnant patients because these are live attenuated vaccines. The Panel Physician (SLEC) will just write a remark that the patient is pregnant and such vaccines will be administered after she gave birth (she'll be in the U.S. by then). The other exams like blood and urine tests will still be done on her and the physical exam. Good Luck and God Bless.
