Keep in mind - once at the interview stage (which is typically why/when the DS-230 is completed) the beneficiary is now applying/petitioning for the visa - this form is in fact his/her APPLICATION FOR

IMMIGRANT VISA AND ALIEN REGISTRATION. Which means it is asking for his/her information. Usually if you think 'what is this form for?' you will find the logical (usually :wacko:) information being asked for.
