I received an RFE from CSC... And here we thought we submitted enough stuff...

Gonna put the cable and electricity bill in both our names and bug some friends/relatives for affidavits

I received an RFE from CSC...

I am puzzled... they don't ask for anything in particular... a sheet attached to the RFE lists all possible documents you can submit... did they lose my documents??? I used the famous acco binders...

Grr this really ticks me off

Anyway I got till November 21

The February 16, 2005 new RFE Memo directs an adjudicator to issue an RFE, rather than a NOID, if a necessary piece or pieces of evidence are missing. According to the Memo, "the highest quality RFE is one that limits the request to the missing evidence. Generally, it is unacceptable to issue a RFE for a broad range of evidence when, after review of the record so far, only a small number of types of evidence is still required." The new RFE Memo recognizes that RFEs requesting a full gamut of information when only a small amount is needed to make a final decision "overburdens the USCIS' customers, over-documents the file, and wastes examination resources through the review of unnecessary, duplicative, or irrelevant documents." This directive is obviously a welcome one and, hopefully, something that will make its way into actual practice.

So it's obvious that most RFE's are low quality ones

Wowwwwwww... sorry to read you got an RFE. I remember you since you helped me with AOS, we had the same Service Center I went to San Antonio for Info pass and biometrics 2 years ago !

I can expect one too since the mortgate is in my Husband name only, was that way before I even met him and we never changed it and the utilities bills are also in his name !

We put a lot of other evidence but it looks like they are looking for whatever you do not send them !

We did put 2 affidavits one from our direct neigbhor and one from friend at his work, but from reading VJ I thought these affidavits were not the best evidence to give them ..........

Well I hope you settle the matter quickly and keep going.......... you did very well so far ! Keep us posted !

Yeah, it's frustrating... being convinced we sent a well documented case... the RFE doesnt' specify what exactly it is they still wanna receive... OK we didn't send utility bills cuz the cable is in my name and electricity is in hers... but we got a joint car insurance and bank account showing both our names in the address portion... my wife is listed as beneficiary on my health and life insurance...

We didn't send affidavits... look we don't know that many people and really don't wanna bother them with that

i would have sent in the utilities anyways... that is what we did... even though some were only in my name and some had both our names...

Sorry to hear that, Sil...especially since they aren't even clear what they want! At least we were told why ours were rejected (even though I'm the first one to encounter their "reason" that I know of, but that's another story! )

I would send them anything and everything that has your names on it...even if they aren't joint. Send the utility bills; even though in only one name they do at least show each of you at the address. I don't know what all you sent but even send driver's licenses, junk mail with each of your names, etc.

They have copies of our driver's licenses.. that was one of the first things I put on my list

From what I have seen so far in regards to RFE's at this stage of the game, they usually want more in the "prove mingling of assets/liabilties" area. I'd gather everything you can, maybe write your wills if you haven't already, and definitely add some affidavits.

As long as the service address is the same, it serves as evidence of joint residence. So, send it in.

I see you went to Houston for your biometrics this time ? Didn't you do to San Antonio first time for AOS ?

I hope you can mail your RFE back to them quickly and keep going.

Were you able to get Letters from friends ?

You had so much evidence already I do not understand why they get so picky ?

the utilities should have spot where you can print out the statements... that is what I did.. we handle all our utilities online too...
