It's arrived. No update from USCIS but in the mail today I have been told to appear in Newark, NJ Friday, Sept. 28th at 10am. That means from the send off of the AOS application it took me three and a half months to get an interview. Not bad at all.

"...My hair's mostly wind,

My eyes filled with grit

My skin's white then brown

My lips chapped and split

I've lain on the prairie and heard grasses sigh

I've stared at the vast open bowl of the sky

I've seen all the castles and faces in clouds

My home is the prairie and for that I am proud…

If You're not from the Prairie, you can't know my soul

You don't know our blizzards; you've not fought our cold

You can't know my mind, nor ever my heart

Unless deep within you there's somehow a part…

A part of these things that I've said that I know,

The wind, sky and earth, the storms and the snow.

Best say that you have - and then we'll be one,

For we will have shared that same blazing sun." - David Bouchard

 If they had a smiley for jazz hands...boy oh boy.... haha

So now that I'm going to be a crazy nut with my wedding next friday and then the interview two fridays after that, I have a questions about the documents to bring.

Misa..where art thou??? haha My question is...my husband and I haven't been married all that long. 3 months. So, there are some utility bills that we just got changed into my name. Do you think it's going to be a problem if we show only, say, one example of a joint Comcast Cable bill from September? I couldn't get on the verizon plan without a SSN, as misa said happened to her as well. I'm on the electric bill but by the time of the interview I will only have..maybe three of them. Will that be a problem?

10AM is way to early, tell them to rebook you for sometime in the afternoon. Tell them you'll wait until an afternoon appointment becomes available. :) Congrats on the appointment and good luck with your upcoming nuptuals.

Congrats! I was out at the garden centre but I'm back now. :P

Okay, the stuff I brought to my interview is linked in my signature but I also brought letters from friends and family attesting that our marriage is bona fide. I also got them to mail the letters by USPS and address it to both of us. I used those postmarked envelopes also as separate evidence.

Do you have a joint bank account? Health insurance? Photos? Scour your house for anything with both your names on it. Invitations to events (even if it's by email).

I think you'll be fine though. At the end of the day, you can only provide what you have and these dumb companies won't easily put us on the accounts without an SSN and/or running a damn credit check.

You may want to ask in the AOS forum for those who adjusted from a B2 whether it's a good or bad idea to bring evidence of relationship prior to you coming to the U.S.

Yeah I thought that would be a good idea so I have all my plane tickets, all my bus tickets and letters/cards from the almost 3 years we dated prior to marriage. Hopefully that will suffice in that department.

Ive got the joint account, the joint lease. I have everything really I guess I am just worried that I don't have 8 months worth of like...comcast bills. I guess it shouldn't matter and hopefully tinker, they will realize I have only been married a short while.

I will definitely be using your guide though misa as a check list. Every one cross your fingers for me as this canuck goes through the crossfire....

They'll only look at a sample of each bill. I brought all the bills with me (only a few months worth of each) and the lady commented that I didn't need all of them, just a sample of each. :P

To make their life easier, make photocopies of all originals so they can keep what they want. With my future in their hands, I'm all for making things smooth and speedy for them!

I guess I should ask here instead of making a new topic - we live with my mother in law. We don't have any bills, only bank statements. Should we bring those statements in if we don't have anything else?

The more evidence, the better. Bring in anything and everything that has both your names on it. You may also want to consider asking her to draw up a rental agreement. Are you on your wife's health insurance? Car insurance?

Get your mother-in-law, other family, mutual friends, etc. to also write a letters on your behalf attesting that your marriage is bona fide. Have your friends and other family mail you the signed letters and address the envelopes to both of you. You can use the postmarked envelopes as separate evidence (I did).
