It's pretty important to get this done. If necessary I would borrow from friends, family or credit cards.

09-02-2005 Applications for AOS, EAD, and AP received by MSC

10-21-2005 AOS fingerprint notice for 12-08-2005

11-07-2005 AP approved

12-05-2005 Infopass appt at San Jose office for interim EAD -- Refused, because it is already approved by MSC on 11-07-2005

12-07-2005 Attempt at interim EAD at San Francisco office -- no go. Back to San Jose, where CSO (chief station officer) tells they will contact MSC via email to request permission to issue interim EAD

12-08-2005 Biometrics for AOS and EAD. Having no EAD appt letter was no problem (used EAD NOA)

12-15-2005 EAD arrived in the mail

12-24-2005 Received interview letter; interview scheduled 03-01-2006

01-28-2006 Received replacement SSN card in married name (5 wks since application)

03-01-2006 AOS interview -- approved; received stamp in the passport

03-13-2006 Green card arrived in the mail

If she doesnt file, she will automatically receive a letter telling her to leave the US before a certain date. That would be more expensive than filing the form.

As this is what would happen, $200+ will seem like pocket change.

Is she certain about the date she must file the I-751? Your post leaves me with some doubt.

Make sure she has looked her Green Card for the expiration date.

If the deadline is correct, she has another month or so to raise the money; there are several things she could do to scrape up $200 odd. If she does not file on time, her PR status is void.

Betcha didn't know that was my nickname as a young'un. Found my mom's contact lens at the bottom of the swiming pool, I did.

I should've put that in the 'what you don't know about me' thread, huh?

True. I still depend on the size of the tank for how long I can stay under. I swear that the DAH is part MerMan though. He's an excellent breath hold diver.

There's an easy way to tell. The difference between a MerMaid and a MerMan is that the Mermaid has ten digits and the MerMan has an extra one.
