Hi guys,

I am expecting an interview date from the London embassy for CR-1 visa around late october or early november. I am currently living in the UK and my UK visa expires on Nov 31. Is there any way I can get my process sped up at the embassy so that everything is done before the end of november because I don't want to get my visa extended at UK anymore. I am expecting a date near november but I dont want to take any risks in case there is some delay. Is there a way to speed things up?

Thanks

As far as I know, there is no way of expediting an interview - unless you are a member of the armed forces about to be deployed or something to that effect. Have you contacted the Consulate? I think the best choice is to extend your visa and not jeopardize your case.

Good luck, L.

As Len says above, there is no way of expediting interviews unless your USC spouse/fiance is about to be deployed. You could put down an estimated travel date for late October on your P3 if you haven't sent it yet, or inform the Embassy that you need to travel before a certain date. London has been known in the past to be flexible and try to accommodate travel needs, but every time I've seen that it was for a K1 visa and people had organised weddings in the States in advance that they kinda needed to attend! Would it work with a CR1/IR1 visa? I don't know.

Considering that you need to have this interview in London, don't take any risks. Extend your UK visa -- you may not need it in the end, but it acts as an insurance policy just in case you do. Good luck!
