yep, how dare Isreal not submit to islamic law. i believe thats why the peace loving gov'ts of iran & syria want to "whipe Isreal off the map"

ok wow...ask yourself WHY they want to wipe israel off the map

my mother is the same age as israel, and the exact day that israel was created, a war was waged against it...why is this? palestine just felt like going to war for fun?

imagine how you would feel if someone told you that the place where you live and were born, where your parents and grandparents were born was now going to become a country for people who lived there OVER A THOUSAND YEARS AGO, im sure you would go peacefully into the night, waving a white flag

Sounds like the peace loving government of the US, who want to turn the world into free markets we can then exploit, regardless of the people who who live in the country want it that way.

Choose a government we like and keep your markets open to us, we like you. Don't and we will force you to change. Look at Venezuela, A democratically elected government (well maybe somewhat corruptly elected, but not much more corrupt than the US) that took more direct control of its resources such as oil. The conservatives don't like that, because it doesn't allow them to freely exploit the oil resources of the country. So even though, this guy was chosen by the people of the country, the US has supported opposition parties to run against him. Along with some politicians wanting to take him over militarily.

The US isn't about allowing the free will of a the people to choose their own form of government and their own type of market. The US is about creating markets that are favorable to US interests by force if necessary. In that respect they are not much different than Islamic extremists.

Saudi Arabia is one of the most repressive Islamic countries in the region. Even though we harp on the rhetoric of Democracy, and we used it as a justification to go to war in Iraq and Afghanistan, we let it slide with Saudi Arabia. Why? because they have created a favorable market to our interests.

If its an issue of defense, we can defend ourselves much more cheaply here at home, than we can abroad. And we can avoid thousands of civilian/military deaths as well. We still have attempted attacks here in the US, even though we are "supposed to be" fighting those who would attack us in Iraq.

beautifully said, bravo.

I think the main reason that region despises Israel isn't so much because of it's origin, but because it's a Jewish country. The amount of hate in that area of the world for Jews is incredible. Turn on any television channel or open any book, and you'll see Nazi-like anti-Jewish propaganda. Worst of all, it's force-fed to the children -- even in schools! The bottom line is that the people there want the Jews dead; they wouldn't have really cared if Israel had been there since the beginning of time. So long as Jews exist, they are to be wiped out.

And that's why they (and even other countries that aren't in the Middle-East, but harbor many anti-Semites) hate Israel: it gives the Jewish people something they've never had before -- a way to fight back against their oppressors! Jews have been hunted, enslaved, murdered, scapegoated, banned, and practically eliminated at various times through history. Israel empowers Jews (the very motto of that country being "Never Again!") and many people in the world don't like that at all.

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

one cannot argue that the propoganda is forced upon the children, but it does happen, perhaps in a modified form, on both sides

they hate eachother, and the poor kids dont even know why...oldest trick in the book

i think its quite clear that what has historically happened to the jews is terrible, but the fact that the state of israel even exists is simply creating new conflict which results in more violence...answering violence with violence never solves anything

why is it soo easy for anyone to start an attack on Islam????

ppl, Islam is just a faith like any other faith!! if ppl wanna accept it, so be it ... if they dont... i dont see where the problem is!!

if a group of maniacs "claiming" to be muslims and want nothing but destruction, well they will get what they deserve no doubt about that!!!

but i wdnt blame the religion for their stupidness not mention their psychotic ways of dealing with things!!!

becoz the quran is clear on these issues and who ever read it and STUDIED it seriously by heart, its not hard at all to see that Islam is innocent from these liars and murderers. not to mention they kill their own ppl.

i ask everyone here to respect everybody's religion and not attack it..... i respect everyone here and i have no grudes or any negative thoughts against anyone. we re all humans. we re all born free to choose and live our lives the way we want to.

i see a few ppl here just repeatedly start posts like that!!! i wonder whats the point from all of this?? the world is already full of hate!!! we shud be smart and not let them divide us like this. its one planet for us all. we have to find a smarter way to accept eachother and not attack eachother with ignorance!!!

How far back in history shall we go though. Are we also going to consider the Kingdom of Judah and Kingdom of Israel?? The last people to own that land was Britain. Therefore it was their land to do with as they pleased.

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

going back in history is just what im talking about...israel was formed on the principles that 1) the jews need a homeland and 2) that plot of land was chosen because it 'rightfully' belonged to the jews, dating back to BIBLICAL TIMES

yes, the british did have a mandate over palestine for a short period following WWI, but they requested imperial control over this region solely because they wanted to keep it away from the french, and so that they could create a zionist state...thus your statement is null

the british mandate over palestine was simply the first step in the creation of israel

arab muslims have lived in palestine since 600 AD, regardless of who had a mandate over the territory

Who lived there prior to that? How far back do should we go then?

Half of Albania technically belongs to Greece. Maybe Greece should be killing people there until Albania hands it back. Same with Skopje, Bulgaria. Romania etc. Lets not even start with Constantinople or the Turkish occupied part of Cyprus.

We went back father in determining that the land belongs to Israel. Even though it hasn't been that way for much longer.

I think what he's trying to get at is that very few countries or regions (if any) are still populated and under control by their original owners. Country ownership tends to go through phases -- much less so today, since it's no longer considered "okay" to invade and conquer your neighbor for "wealth, power and land." But go back a few hundred years or more and nations were attempting to do that to each other all the time, especially if they found a "somewhat weaker, unsuspecting populace" to take advantage of easily.

The borders between counties that we have today are predominately products of past wars. Some were created though treaties and negotiation, but most through war, where the winner drew up the boundary lines and did what they pleased with their newly conquered territory.

Was that fair? Depends who you ask. For the victors, absolutely. The losers would say "no way!" Those who were caught in the middle and conquered themselves would probably be pretty upset as well, seeing as they didn't get much choice in the matter either. But that's how it goes.

Life isn't always fair. If it was, none of us would have to go through this awful mess called "immigration." We'd be free and clear to be with our loved ones right from the beginning. If life was fair, there'd be no war, no poverty, no crime, no sickness, and so on...

But that's not how it is and life isn't always fair. So you deal with it as you can and that's the best you can do.

clearly that is the answer i would advocate

half of albania belongs to greece? albania has been conquered by everyone and their mother....byzantines, ottomans, romans etc etc, but i dont recall ever hearing or reading that half of albania belongs to greece...a small populations of greeks were expelled from the city of durres, that im aware of...and no that is not right...BUT, the albanian people have rights to the land where albanians have resided for centuries, that includes kosovo and parts of macedonia

as someone previously stated, the borders to our modern nations were arbitrarily drawn up as the results of war (usually)

when the ethnic background of the people within those borders is ignored, backlash is bound to occur...people dont enjoy waking up one morning and finding out that their family now lives in a different country, under a different government than them....such is the reason why iraq is currently involved in civil war, why there have been so many conflicts for albanians and many others throughout history...lines are drawn in the sand that group enemies together and split up families...its ridiculous that this is accepted as the norm

i never ever said that killing is the answer to ANYTHING, and i never will

but these things can and should be avoided at all cost

people need to decide for themselves what choices are to be made for the place within which they live...unfortunately we are a far cry from learning this lesson
