Interview dates scheduling is indeed scheduled every 2nd week of the month for the next month.

Remember too:

The spouses of those going through Standard NVC processing are generally scheduled by the embassy. Otherwise, those going through Appointment Post NVC Processing, NVC will set the interview date for you then moved to the embassy.

You can click on this link:

http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3176.html

Select the embassy your spouse will be going through from the drop-down menu and click on the Request Instructions button. An alert box will pop up telling you that you will now be directed to either Appointment Post or Standard NVC processing instructions

I read here that the NVC only assigns interview dates on the second week of the month. Can anyone verify this? And is this every country?

Hi, for the countries that the NVC do the scheduling for; the scheduling is done during the second week of each month. However based on what I saw during the two months that I was waiting to get my date; the NVC does not announce any interview dates until all the interviews have been scheduled for that month. They finished scheduling for July appointment on June 15. My case was complete June 18. For August interviews the scheduling was completed July 20 and Sep interviews were completed on Aug 16. This is the day I got my interview date :dance: . I start calling the NVC almost every day at the being of the 2nd in July and August. Now I realize the reps will not give you any info until all of the scheduling is done. So if I was looking to get schedule in Oct; I would start calling the NVC on Sep 14.

Is there a backlog in Jamaica?

No I think I just got caught up in the transition over to the new process with Jamaica embassy. Prior to June, the NVC was not scheduling for Jamaica. So I think as they were sorting things there were just not a lot of appointment available. Another VJ member got was completed in mid July and she got an appointment with me in August. She only had to wait one month.

Best of Luck. Best wishes. Thank you.
