I've been reading thru the tpics and ive found that the majority says to put my wife's married name on the AOS, early parole etc...my wife is here on a K-1 and we got married within the 90 days. Our marriage cert only has her maiden name and does not have her married name on it....So my question is that if we use her married name on the AOS and early parole docs....is she going to have a hard time when she travels outside of the USA...Her only valid id are her coliombia passport and colombian id which both haver her maiden name.....if we use her married name on the AOS and parole docs...what will show that she is the person on the additional documents?

thanks

AOS -K2 Based for 8 year old daughter...wife already has green card in hand and daughter was brought over via join to follow - K1.

When travelling outside the US, take a copy of your marriage certificate and the original AP document. Make sure that the ticket is purchased in the name on the passport.

It is also a good idea to take a photocopy of the NOA.

As her passport and such need renewing, get them done in her married name.

I filled up the AOS form with my married name and applied SSN with my married name too. So far, there is no problem at all.

tommyesq,

our marriage cert has my maiden name only. All marriage certs do! But the fact that it is a document that proves we got married, gives me right to choose which surname I will use... gives me right to use my husband's surname as my own. As for travel and change of name on docs... like kim&james said.

Good luck!
