Gee, I wish I could play those games at times....but I must confess I am a true bookworm. I come mostly to the computer to look up stuff...yes, I must be boring..lol. I thrive on information!!!!!

I lived in Calgary for 15 years...loved it when I was there, but it just got to big for a small town girl like myself. I moved back to Saskatchewan in 2000 and now I reside in Middle of Nowhere, North Dakota.

This is nice to just sit around and visit. Seems like we could all be sitting around the kitchen table sharing tea and biscuits!!!

Just reading Bill Bryson at the moment - notes from a big country - not many books where you can get information and laugh out loud. Have you read his book "A short history of almost everything"? If you love information you will love that book.

Calgary is getting bigger and I can't say that I appreciate it. It's where I'm from although I have lived in much bigger cities, but their growth must have been much slower as there is this irritation factor in Calgary that I didn't find in the other cities.

We will be moving to nowhere Nebraska, which will be quite the change for both of us, but I'm looking forward to it - I would really like to move to Hawaii at some point.

Before or after eating?

BTW, go with glass, tends to be less reactive.

I have a friend who just moved to new york city for a job who is tried and true Calgary born. She was my roommate in my first year of university. She loves Calgary. But just last week she finally came in for her job and stayed with me for a few days before her apartment was ready in Manhattan. She was telling me how much Calgary is changed and how she thought she'd always live there but now is for sure opting for Ottawa. So many people moved that area because of jobs and now there are no more it seems. So with that influx of people and jobs running out, it has just created a lot of problems. (or so she says) That is really too bad.

"...My hair's mostly wind,

My eyes filled with grit

My skin's white then brown

My lips chapped and split

I've lain on the prairie and heard grasses sigh

I've stared at the vast open bowl of the sky

I've seen all the castles and faces in clouds

My home is the prairie and for that I am proud…

If You're not from the Prairie, you can't know my soul

You don't know our blizzards; you've not fought our cold

You can't know my mind, nor ever my heart

Unless deep within you there's somehow a part…

A part of these things that I've said that I know,

The wind, sky and earth, the storms and the snow.

Best say that you have - and then we'll be one,

For we will have shared that same blazing sun." - David Bouchard
