Not surprising at all. Apple products are made by Foxconn - a China-based company. In fact, Foxconn also makes HP computers, Dell computers, Compaq computers, Motorola phones, Nintendo Wii, ad infinium...

I won't lie. I'd like to have an iPhone. I refuse to buy an iPod though. If I've paid for a song, I want to burn a copy for the car, etc. Mags has an iPod. She can't do anything with her iPod here except play it, cuz Apple says it is in the wrong "region".

I'll get an iPhone when Cingular/ATT has them for $99 w/ a 2 year contract.

And what's up with the little glowing icon on the new iPod that lights up when you get near a Starbucks that has WiFi access? Apple has become a #######.

I am going to be like the rest of the suckers who waited in line for days and hours just to pay high price for a IPHONE right lol. Now they will do the same when the IPOD touch comes out lol.

Hmmm, iPod Touch 16 GB or iPod Classic 160GB. Sorry the idea of an iPod is to store music and video for playback. I would fill up that wee little Touch far too quickly. IF, I were to upgrade I want more hard drive space NOT less than the one I have now.

Claudeth's current iPod holds up to 7500 songs. I'm am not sure if I could listen to 7500 songs

i could see myself using the 80gb.. i still have a lot of music i havent uploaded, and i could upload my movies too.. but 160gb.. thats too much..

For music, yes. I agree. But consider video which I like to put on them too. Full length television shows and movies take up a lot of MBs. Great for watching while sitting in a boring airport for 12 hours waiting for a connecting flight.

I'm definitely going to wait for the 2nd generation iPod Touch before I drool at the Apple Store - hard lesson learned about trying out any first-generation product.

It's a neat little thing, but I'd much rather spend the money on a MacBook Pro if I want portability. Most likely I'd end up losing the thing in the black hole of my purse.

I think that's because they're going over to higher capacity flash memory. No HDD to break if you drop it (though now you have to worry about the screen) - but has a higher cost per gigabyte.
