my wife called the DOS this morning expecting to hear the same old news which is ( your case is still in Cairo )

but it seem like it is our lucky day coz finally we heard something different .. they said our case is in the DOS now .. me and Jeanne are just so happy now and excited to hear that the clearance will be done soon .

i know that it's not a big news for some people to know that their case made it to the DOS .. coz probably some of them would get the whole process done and even get their visa and book their tickets and fly to the states without the needs to wait half the time that we have waited BUT for us it's a big news .....

after more than three months in Cairo .

after many calls and many emails to the DOS and the Consulate .

and even after they made us believe that Cairo can handle the whole case and mak all the clearance here without any help fron the DOS . which doesn't seem to be true now .

after all that i would say it should be a big news for us .

i know that some people on the AP list are still waiting for their cases to go to the DOS .. and that's why i wanted to assure them that it's just a matter of time before their cases are in the DOS .. not to worry about it .. hope all our cases get done soon .. and pray for all of us to be guaranteed our visas very soon .

Of course, prayer is all we have when one is dealing with this process and THE EMBASSY.

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

Congrats!

It used to be ppl couldn't wait for it to finish at DOS now ppl can't wait for it to actually get to DOS. I wonder why they changed procedures like that.

I have a theory........it used to be that people would have to wait three to four months from the time the pkt3 was sent in to the time they got their interview. Now that is about the timeframe it takes to get to dos..............so i think the people that used to put the packets in the envelope to go to dos have been moved to the room where they make the interview schedules. lol.

It does kinda make sense. Like maybe they did the initial checks before the interview now they do it after. I know when Moh got his packet 3 it was taking about 1.5-2 mos to schedule the interview after the packet 3 was sent back to the consulate.

Oh I never thought of it that way. I was actually joking but that DOES make a lot of sense!!

oh mam .. methink the real question is why people should be waiting at the first place .. waiting for the case to made it to the DOS or even waiting for the case to finish at the DOS .

or waiting for the case when it comes back from the DOS and stays months in the embassy , or waiting etc .........

i think a good idea would be replacing the "turtle" by a "rabbit" or even a "mouse" just anything faster .

Well I think , and I'm just speculating here, that there are two procedures for checking people out. One is at the DOS level to check name checks at the FBI, etc. and then the next is at the local level to check the person out...i.e. investigate their home, ask around, ask local authorities, etc. Maybe like we just said this local level check was previously done before getting the interview but now it's done after.

Of course some don't need any of this, such as the ones we've seen get their visa in two days. Maybe they just dont' have a name hit on the system or something.

Then again I like the turtle analogy...that actually gives me hope because the turtle does get there eventually, it's just slower than normal. I told my husband last night that it could be worse, we could be going through morocco and be one of the cases that gets sent back for good.
