Great Parent or Great Spouse

I chose great spouse...if your spouse is wonderful then it stands to reason that he or she will be a great parent. As for staying in a marriage for the kid's sake...NO. If the spouse is abusive then it's definitely NOT good for the kids to be subjected to such a situation. Been there...done that...won't do it again.

I think, if you have kids, then it is impossible to be a good spouse without being a good parent. They go hand in hand. But you could be a good parent, while still being a lousy spouse.

So then I guess I would say good spouse.

Well said, Jenn! 100% agree! Kids are very intuitive/perceptive - they can sense when there is tension between mom and dad which can make them feel very insecure.

As for me, I will sacrifice my own happiness for my children's sake. Therefore, I chose: GREAT PARENT. I will rather stay with a person who is a great parent to my kids, rather than being a great spouse.

Good husband and wife, you should be a good example to your children. If the kids see thats their parents are full of love with each other, they will be full of love too.

I was once told that you have to take care of your husband/ wife then the children. If both parents are happy, the children find peace and love at home.

A great spouse precedes being a great parent, part of being a great parent is honoring and loving your spouse,

being loving and affectioante to the mother of your children is being a grweat parent and teaching a valuable life lesson to your children.

I am not surprised by the responses we have received from here, sometimes our cultures plays the part of choosing a great parent rather than great spouse.

Great spouse - for we dont have a kid yet..

maybe after three years i'l switch my vote and yet keep the great spouse in mind.
