Hello All,

My fiancee Passport is going to Expire in April. We got NOA2 approval on Aug 16th - still at NVC . I was thinking may be 6 weeks atleast for interview. so in the mean time.............

Can we send the Passport for Renewal will that be a problem at the time of Interview? As at the time of filing K1 the passport number and the new paaport number after renewal will be differnt what should i do. Should we wait after the interview to get it renewed then the new passport will not have any visa stamp on it.

Please help.

I think would be better for you to renewal as soon as possibly can, because when she gets her appointment for the interview, one of the things they will check is her passport will have more than 6 months until its expiration date, and also as you said, if they stamp on your old passport I don´t know if it´s easy to ask for a new stamp in the new one ¿?

And also check that the passport is the new kind of electric passports.

I agree. You should do it now while waiting for an interview. It won't matter if the visa is in the old passport coz both and new will be attached together and also doesn't affect if the passport number differs from your application.
