The cupboard contains a packet of plain longgrain rice (I think!) and a packet of arborio rice for risotto and a box of Goya black beans and rice... I think we'll have the plain rice too and then the question becomes should we open the bagged salad DH just bought, or should we have frozen green beans or broccoli/cauliflower?

Easy -- broccoli/cauliflower with cheese!!!

I need to write down a number, should I do it on a post-it or on the back of a printout I no longer need?

Reuse!

You know that!

I think the apricot chicken would be better with plain white rice.

It'll help cut the sweetness.

Beans&rice will add too much of a different flavor.

I agree.

Canadalaura-

I would suggest a lovely menu to include:

Hors d'Oeivres:

Cumin Fire Shrimp, Chicken Yakitori, Gorgonzola Gougeres, and Spanakopita.

First Course:

Composition of Asparagus, Goat Cheese, and Beets

Assorted Breads

Main Course:

Fresh cod with a lemon mustard glaze on a bed of French lentils

Fondue of vegetables

Dessert:

Raspberry Cheesecake Napoleon
