IR/CR Help for friend: Interview and Tax info...

Hi Everyone,

Before I continue, please note that this is NOT for my immigration situation (see my timeline for my unrelated situation), merely, it is information to be passed on to someone that I know.

The person that I know is a USC that is filing a CR/IR visa for their spouse in the Philippines. The USC has the following questions:

-Who is notified of the interview date, the USC Petitioner or the foreign beneficiary? How much in advance are they notified of this interview date (as the USC has to make plans to travel overseas)? Is the USC Peititoner allowed to attend the interview with the foreign beneficiary?

-The USC is using a co-sponsor for their situation, as their income does not meet the government requirements. The co-sponsor (also a USC) has just moved back into the USA from another country and will start a job in September 2007. Therefore, that co-sponsor will only have about six months of US pay stubs, and only one tax return for next year. Will this be enough to prove financial/tax information?

-Since the USC doesn't have enough income, can their asset of a car be counted in the sponsorship equation? Or is the co-sponsor's income and assets enough alone just be counted, and that would be sufficient enough?

I wasn't sure about the Co-sponsor thing but in regards to the Interview notification; me and my husband receive both copies.

Thanks for your reply about both the petitioner and the beneficiary receiving copies of the interview information. Did you receive this notification in the form of a letter? How much in advance before the interview did you and your husband receive the notification?
