A few questions about AOS

Hey all, I am looking for opinions here.

When we mailed our AOS, EAD, AP we did not include 2005 taxes becase A. They aren't done yet, and B. the deadline hasn't passed so we didn't think we would need to.

That being said, I see many peopl getting RFE's for 2005 taxes. I still find this odd seeing as the deadline to file has not passed but that's no biggie.

Has anyone filed, and not received an RFE for the 2005 taxes?

I am waiting for my EAD and if an RFE for my AOS will slow down the EAD I am wondering if we should just send in our 2005 taxes even though we haven't received anything. Has anyone done this??

I called the USCIS number on the NOA but I can't get an operator....does anyone here know the key sequence so I can bypass the BS? lol.

People are really getting RFEs for the 2005 taxes? That is just silly, the taxes aren't due for another 8 days!

Well...did you try just pushing a bunch of random #s or 0000000000 or #####?

That's my 1st guess, but I'm not too sure. Let me see if I can find anything out for ya.

Yeah, we're one of the ones who got RFE'd.

I'd be hesitant to send anything before you get an RFE, since they have a tendency to lose things!

Yes, I got passed the first menu, it's the ones afterwards that are so annoying.

So, anyone else NOT get an RFE who has sent in their papers lately?

I'm also hesitant about sending something in before it's requested, god forbid if they had never planned to RFE us to begin with!!! That would be the worst.

I guess we should just wait and see. I too think it's ridiculous to request information that the IRS has yet to request or verify! I'd be happy to take it to my AOS interview.

There was a random combination I had on a post it note around here that someone mentioned worked very well for getting through... random buttons, essentially, like I-6-4-2-0-6 or such.

It's better to call the USCIS number on Wednesday or Thursday.

It was Monday when I called them for the first time, and I waited for literally 35 minutes.

I was allowed to ask only 3 questions. That was it.

While waiting, the tape was repeatedly saying that Wed or Thu would be better to call. So I called them the following Wednesday morning (9:00am, PST). It took a few minutes to get to a representative.

Hope you won't have to wait for that long.
