I received a letter today for interview. It has a few things on the front of the letter to bring such as passport, i94, proof of common residence or shared life, etc. However on the back it says "Bring the following items to the interview" and it lists everything I had sent with the origanal application such as G-325A, medical reports, I-864,i693, and every freakin thing i had already rounded up and sent with the origianl application.

So my question is do i need to fill out those applications again?!?! Especially the medical records since i only got a sealed envelope that i already sent to them.

Did you copy everything in your application packet before you sent it in? If so, bring the copies with you. The interview officer should have your original applications on file, but they still want you to bring a copy of what you submitted... maybe for comparison purposes, I don't know.

Don't worry about the medical; since the packet was sealed and sent in, you can't bring a copy unless the civil surgeon's office was nice enough to make you a copy before sealing the envelope.

I hope you didn't send original birth certificates or W-2s, or anything of that nature. The only original document I sent in besides the actual applications was a certified marriage certificate, because I had ordered four certified copies from the county for this very purpose.

well now im looking at a post on the next page http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=86467 and it says not to if it was originally submitted with the application. Which makes more sense > craps so confusing and redundant.

If you have a copy of everything, I would DEFINITELY bring it. And of course don't forget the original documents like birth certificate, passport, ID, etc.

If you don't have a copy... well, I'm not sure what you should do at that point. I don't think you need to fill out each application again just to bring to the interview, but maybe someone who went to an interview without a copy of their packet would be able to enlighten us.

Jup1ter thanks for clearing this up> its just alot of poo that you have to gather and very time consuming doing it once let alone twice and maybe more int the future.

I did make copies, just dont have the medical papers...and maybe a few other things that i should be able to gather.

thanks again

No problem! I know what you mean, it's daunting to think of gathering up all the evidence you need and hoping it's enough for USCIS. Here's a tip: I bought a big accordion file, and everything relating to my husband's case goes in there the moment I receive it. It really helps me prepare as we wait for an interview date. I've already filed things in there like our copy of the submission packet, mail in his name, copies of my life and medical insurance policies with him as the beneficiary, cable bill in joint names, cards from friends and family, photos, magazine subscription labels in his name, pharmacy subscriptions paid by me, etc. Basically anything that proves we have a bona fide marriage.

Good luck!

It says to bring whatever you didn't originally submit. But if you have copies, definitely bring them.

I have a related question, it says on that interview letter to bring your certified marriage certificate. Will they keep it, or just look at it? I sent in an original one with my AOS just so they wont make a fuss, and want to know if there is a possibility they'd take another original from me.

Also, if you bring a photo album as proof, do you make a smaller set of pics for them to keep?

They won't keep your originals of your marriage certificate, photos, etc.

To make their life a little easier, bring photocopies of originals for them to keep. Make 2 sets of photos so they can keep a set if they want.

You dont have to fill the documents again, just bring the copy, im sure you made a copy of it before you sent it to USCIS.

If they say to bring it, bring it.

Its unfortunate that you did not make a photocopy of your original packet.
