Hi there,

I know this has probably been covered before but in doing a search all I could come up with was information from last year.

My Sister's Husband and Son are doing AOS right now and they have also applied for an EAD for him.

They received the NOA1 in June and they had biometrics done in late July.

The thing is, none of the MSC case numbers on any of their receipts (including the EAD receipt) works on the USCIS website, she still gets a - this is not a valid case number - message.

I'm sure she is entering the number correctly etc.. Is anyone else having this problem 2 months in to the process?

Yes many many many people have that problem.

The numbers are right, it just means that the USCIS agents who work on the cases haven't had time or taken the time to update the information online.

This is to be expected with the increase of application that they received.

In my case I have only part of what I sent online (I-130 & I-765 but not the I-485) with only one 'touch' on August 7th, the day it was put online.

Just don't be expecting too much of the online update. You will receive information by snail mail which are usually more accurate anyway.

Thanks for your reply - she was just hoping to check on the EAD, without calling them.

Strange thing is, she sent in a I-130 for her Daughter at the end of July and it is available online - so I guess they selectively update them :)

Well they probably have their papers taken care of by different agents. The EAD usually is treated separately from what I hear (well they check that it goes with the right stuff=I-485), but I think it's a different office that approves it. And I just checked a post from someone else and there is a backlog due to the increase of applications, so I think we are going to have to wait longer than usual.

Good morning! We filed AOS, EAD, and AP in early July and none are available online. Hubby had his biometrics appointment for AOS and EAD already. I call once a week to check on the AOS and EAD. During our K1 process we did not receive timely updates. By the time our NOA2 came my husband and I were already married. (In fact we ended up getting 2 NOA2s one a few days after his interview and one about a week or two later). Anyway, because of our K1 experience, I've been afraid that I can't count on timely updates by post. So...once I week I call USCIS, select prompts for RFE, talk to someone they always transfer me to another agent because surprise, surprise- I'm not in the system. The second person gives me the info I need. No RFE's, and no interview appointment.
