Hi all, I live in the UK my `fiancee`lives in the US and now we`ve got to start the process for the K1 visa and to be honest with you i`ve trawelled through the websites and it`s a bit of a muddle !!!

Please could someone break it down for me in laymans langauge !!!

We really could do with some help, oh btw is it preferable to get a lawyer/solicitor who specializes in K1 visas to do the paperwork (expensive !) or can it be a DIY job

Please,please help us :help:

Cheers Beckyboo

Beckyboo,

Keep trawling - the Guides have a Step-by-Step break down - most folks here are the DIY type - unless you have a complicated case (legal issues, or visa issues, etc) then you should be OK on your own (of course only you guys will know the answer to that). (Here's a K1 flow chart.)

Best advise - read, read, read... come across a term or abbreviation you don't understand - look it up. It takes a little while to become familiar with them, but once you do, you'll realize it's not terribly complicated once you break your journey down into smaller stages.

Good Luck...

Study the K-1 guide here on VJ, it will have every thing you need. If something is confusing ask specific questions. Good luck

Once youve read the Guides if you still have questions, feel free to ask.

And yes unfortunatly the fees have increased.

IF YOU ARE NEW TO THE SITE, PLEASE READ THE GUIDES BEFORE ASKING ALOT OF QUESTIONS. THE GUIDES ARE VERY HELPFUL AND WILL SAVE YOU ALOT OF TIME!

Thanks guys !! i`m beginning to get there slowly, BUT to my horror i`ve just read that the fee for filling the I 129F Form has increased

So did the AOS fee which you would have to file for once you arrive in the US with your K1 visa.
